Is Agbo playing from midfield?

Hmmm... Insightful.

Esiti's lack of pace and inability to comfortably pick an inventive forward pass.

As for Igiebor... Hmmm.. I think the bolded says it all.

tbaba1234:
EXCLUSIVE: Why Nosa Igiebor And Anderson Esiti Were Axed By Gernot Rohr For Algeria Clash

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria step up their preparations for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers game against Algeria, Owngoalnigeria.com has gotten an insight as to why the duo of Anderson Esiti and Nosa Igiebor were dropped from the list of players for the tie.

The duo as reported by Owngoalnigeria.com are not in the list of 25 players called up for the November 12 tie, which could have a big impact on Nigeria’s leadership of Group B.

Gent of Belgium midfield powerhouse Esiti, whose inclusion has generated lot of debates was dropped due to the presence of utility midfielders in Wilfred Ndidi and Shehu Abdullahi.

Ndidi and Abdullahi can both play as full backs aside their defensive midfield role, with Genk Ndidi also able to play in central defence unlike Esiti who is only at home playing as a defensive midfielder, a role Eddy Onazi has made his personal property since 2013.

Esiti’s pace was another deciding factor as he could slow down quick breaks, due to his lack of pace and inability to play a forward pass unlike the other players in his role.

Meanwhile Igiebor failed to sufficiently justify his call up to the team for the previous games against Tanzania and Zambia, with his performances against Akwa United and Plateau United in two friendly game, no where near what Rohr needs from his midfielder.

This is why Rohr want Enyeama back. He wants to ensure that every position in the SE is competitive. He wants a reliable goalkeeper to deputise Carl should in case something happens to him. But it is unfortunate that some people have misconstrued such moves as Enyeama coming to automatically relegate Carl to the bench. Carl has proven that he can be trusted, so he ought to remain the no 1, But since we don't have an up to par goalkeeper now, Enyeama should be recalled so that Carl will be motivated to perform better in order not to lose his no 1 spot to Enyeama.

Uche Agbo has impressed so far against Barca's MSN... His first half performance was very commendable.

He breaks up play nicely and marks well and his passing is very okay.

Granada is currently down by one nil shaa courtesy of a Rafinha acrobatic strike.

He's still playing and I am really seeing why he should be picked ahead of Oboabona.

Uche Agbo is very good.

Yesterday Kelechi Nwakali made his debut in the starting eleven of MVV Maastricht against FC Volendam. He started as a right winger. Really made an inpression. 2nd half after a substitute played as a number 10. Unfortunately he got cramp and came off in the 77th minute.

But how "good" was that impression? Average, above average, below average or excellent....

Will download the video soon enough... Just doing something and also checking out Agbo.

K. Nwakali is one of our super hopes in this new era. May his development continue along positive lines... smiley

Was really interested in how he did his thing as a "right winger" before switching to his natural playmaking role as a no.10 hence my question... Loollll

Will watch the video soon. smiley

Sone aluko is in real good form right now. Scored again today and was instrumental in their 5-0 thrashing of. Fulham fans already are raving about him saying he should be contending for the balon d'or. He deserves a call up to the national team ahead of john ogu in my opinion.

Agbo passed the MSN test in flying colors smiley

Abeg.... Agbo is the man. I have already spoken about his fine abilities to pass from the back, break up opposition plays and mark cleanly. He did really good.

Stopped Messi and Neymar more than once on the few occasions he came up against them.

No one was expecting Musa Muhammad and Kingsley Madu to make the List. I even read some comments and posts - saying Gernot Rohr has lost Confidence in the Duo - but eventually they make the List!

If Mikel, with no play-time at Chelsea, could be guaranteed a spot in the Team, then I see no reason Musa Muhammad should miss out. Some would argue about the experience Mikel gets over Musa, but to me - I so much believe in Talent than experience.

Musa Muhammad is simply the best for the RB position now, perhaps Tyrone can outshine him at the Training Camp and eventually plays the Position against the Algerians. But at the moment, Musa Muhammad is the best choice IMO!

Say who you wanted. Not was he the best. Overall, the Chan was a good tourney for Nigeria under Keshi.

Quote in the local newspaper:

'Even Stevie Wonder would have seen Nwakali is an amazing footballer.'

'His first touch when he gets a cross is like he is pooring a cup of tea.'

'A double scissor in a counter attack with a through ball like he was crossing the road.'

Lol that you were just asking me a question. My opinion a nice start and now he has to continue. That he got cramps it shows 2nd Division isn't such a poot level of competition. He earned his place next week in the line-up against Telstar at home on friday. There's a reason he is in the article and the commentator wanted to interview after the game. Yesterday we didn't reserve to lose, opponent was very effective.

In Rohr's last interview, he talked about him not meeting up to standard in training.

I guess Ebuehi was brought in to push him.

I believe the list was not released because the technical team were still making last minute changes and tweaks.

The news reports got many things right.

What of how he indirectly called Iheanacho “inexperienced” and ruled against his inclusion to the Super Eagles squad? How he eschewed Obafemi Martians who was doing well at that particular time? how he also ignored Ike Uche who was then banging goals for his club side? how he tarried till after Nigeria qualified for world cup before succumbing to pressure and included Peter Osaze, and so on?

undeniable!

Iheanacho was inexperienced then. He was not even a regular in City's reserve team. Not a regular in Columbus Crew where he was on loan due to injury but you guys expected Keshi to play Iheanacho.

As for Ike Uche, he refused to play to Keshi's pattern. He openly refused to listen to Sylvanus Okpala after he pleaded with Uche to compromise for the team.

Keshi played mostly huge guys up front because he relied more on long balls. That is why his list consisted of the likes of Emenike, Ideye, Ameobi, Osaguona, Aaron Samuel. Martins was good but from Keshi's style of play, he was not a good fit.

At the World Cup, when Keshi played Osaze, he clearly played off the instructions of the coaching crew which caused Keshi to publicly criticise him.

When Keshi finally recalled Uche, the chances came and he fluffed them against South Africa.

So there were factors of the choices, not bias. Keshi was bold to the tough decisions and if it was not what people liked, they called it bias.

Did not mind Oliseh. He created the confusion. After we did not qualify, he was to continue with the squad without making too much changes.

Just like Oshaniwa, Aluko was another that never got a call-up after his two goals against South Africa.
