In Rohr's last interview, he talked about him not meeting up to standard in training.

I guess Ebuehi was brought in to push him.

I believe the list was not released because the technical team were still making last minute changes and tweaks.

The news reports got many things right.
All is all..... I guess he deserves the Invitation?!

Did not mind Oliseh. He created the confusion. After we did not qualify, he was to continue with the squad without making too much changes.

Just like Oshaniwa, Aluko was another that never got a call-up after his two goals against South Africa.
Aluko is playing very well, a case can be made for him.

The same can not be said for Oshaniwa.

Well, the coach has seen enough to call him, hope he justifies it if he starts.

I am not making a case for anyone. I am talking of Oliseh breaking the hardwork of Keshi.

I gave my suggestion of how I feel we can tackle our left Back issue. If Rohr feels Madu can do the task no problem but every time Echiejile makes the list of call-ups, there is a chance we are living out a better player.

Nigeria Waits As Wolves GK Ikeme Suffers
Hip Injury Ahead Of Algeria WCQ

https://allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/74054Ikeme.jpg

Wolverhampton Wanderers are sweating on the
fitness of Nigeria goalkeeper Carl Ikeme ahead of
their next competitive fixture against Derby
County in the Football League Championship.

The shot-stopper had to be replaced before the
start of the second half in Wolves’ 1-1 draw at
Blackburn Rovers on Saturday after picking up a
hip injury when he stretched to make a save.

Both the Molineux Stadium and Ikeme have
released a statement, hoping that the injury
sustained by the Nigerian is not a long-term
injury.

“Carl Ikeme had a hip injury which Rob hopes
isn’t too serious. Pleased to see Andy Lonergan
make a positive impact when he came on, ”
Wolves said in a statement via Twitter.

Ikeme added : “We deserved at least a point and lads all dug in. Hopefully injury nothing to
serious.Congrats @_DaveEdwards great goal and performance"

It is envisaged that the goalkeeper will undergo
tests in the coming days to determine the
severity of the injury.

Ideye Sends Warning Signal To Algeria With
Potential Goal Of The Season For Olympiakos

https://i0.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-79.jpg?fit=1600%2C1200

Brown Ideye who is expected to lead the attack
for the Super Eagles of Nigeria when they take on Algeria, proved his sharpness and readiness for the tie with a beautiful strike for Olympiakos
which gave them a lone goal win over Atromitos.

Known for his ability to bring others into play as
witnessed in his well weighted pass to Iheanacho for Nigeria’s second goal against Zambia in Ndola, he is guaranteed to start ahead of Watford star Odion Ighalo against Algeria.

Ideye looked certain to retain his spot in the team after combining well with the likes of Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon in the 2-1 win over Zambia in Ndola.

The 28 year old forward has gone two games
without a goal for the Greek Champions, before
rifling home a beautiful of a goal to give his team all three points against a dogged Atromitos side.

No doubt, his back to goal scoring ways will
gladden the heart of Super Eagles coach Gernot
Rohr, who has been vocal in his demands for his
players to score more goals going by the number of chances they create in games.

‘Eagles not scared of Leekens’

https://images.supersport.com/2016/10/Ikechukwu%20Ezenwa-02.jpg

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa has said Algeria’s choice of former manager, Georges Leekens will count for nothing in the World Cup qualifying clash.

Eagles will host the Algerian opposite, Desert
Foxes in the group’s 2018 Fifa World Cup
matchday 2 clash on November 12 at the
Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The Belgian was handed a second spell at the
North African side on Thursday to replace the
ousted Serbia’s Milovan Rajevac.

Ezenwa said the present crop of Eagles want to
pick the World Cup ticket with a game to spare in the qualifying campaign.

“Georges Leekens’ appointment as Algerian coach does not scare us and will count for nothing when both sides square up for the matchday 2 clash in Uyo on November 12.

“The body language and spirit among the players speak volume of side who want to pick the world Cup ticket before the last match.

“The mind-set of the players is to head off to the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia so nobody will be considered too tough an obstacle to scuttle the lofty dream.

“Majority of the present Eagles has not been to
the mainstream World Cup and they want to be
there to have a true feel of what it looks like.

“I may have participated in the Fifa U20 World
Cup for me and others that’s a youth championship we want to experience the real
World Cup.

“Our minds are focused on beating the Algerians irrespective of who calls the shot as head coach,” said the FC IfeanyiUbah shot stopper to supersport.com.

Nigeria are at the summit of the group on three
points after game one win against Zambia in
Ndola while matchday 2 opponents, Algeria and
Cameroon are on one point respectively.

Throwback: Russian Born Nigerian Defender
Idowu Claims Zenith St Petersburg Froze Him Out Because He’s Black

https://i0.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-73.jpg?fit=620%2C372

Former Zenit St Petersburg youth team player
Brian Idowu has claimed the Russian club refused to play him in their main team because he is black.

The 24-year-old left Zenith in 2010 as an 18-year-old without playing a game for the main team, and the Amkar Perm defender claimed he was told his path to the main team was unfeasible because of the colour of his skin.

Born in St. Petersburg to Nigerian parents Idowu made the claims on the wesbite of his present team, which will further heap pressure on Zenith as they have long being accused of being a racist team.

In 2012 one Zenit fans’ group published a
manifesto demanding the club not sign any black or gay players.

However, the club responded to those demands
three years ago by saying “we make our player
selections without any limitation regarding origin, religion or skin colour”.

Zenith St Petersburg are yet to release any official statement on Idowu’s claim , but reports in Russia suggest the team will respond after
today’s Europa League game against Sevilla.
The Nigerian whose maternal grandmother is the reason behind his Russian roots is presently a teammate to out of favour Super Eagles midfielder Fengor Ogude.

This season he has made 7 appearances for the
team in the Russia top flight league after a loan
spell last season at second division Dinamo Sankt Petersburg.

Maastricht:
Quote in the local newspaper:

'Even Stevie Wonder would have seen Nwakali is an amazing footballer.'

'His first touch when he gets a cross is like he is pooring a cup of tea.'

'A double scissor in a counter attack with a through ball like he was crossing the road.'

Lol that you were just asking me a question. My opinion a nice start and now he has to continue. That he got cramps it shows 2nd Division isn't such a poot level of competition. He earned his place next week in the line-up against Telstar at home on friday. There's a reason he is in the article and the commentator wanted to interview after the game. Yesterday we didn't reserve to lose, opponent was very effective.
Watched the clip you posted and must say Kelechi Nwakali's development at your club is commendable.
I like the fact he is being developed first on the wings at this stage of his development. As this would help improve his already crazy energy levels, strength and movement , pace and running through the channels. The defensive part of his game will get polished as well because he will learn to double team and track back runners.
I belive these little indices will mould him into an incredibly dominant midfielder when he finally reverts back to the midfield, the full package.
I have a feeling Andre Jonkers must have suggested this positional change to the Dutch club or maybe it's just the old school Dutch method of grooming players, where players are made to play multiple positions.
Kudos to Nwakali and Maastrich

Tammy Abraham response:

For Super Eagles, He says:

Why not?
"I have to keep doing well for Bristol City for England and Nigeria to keep fighting for me."
"I’m Nigerian as well so it is possible to play for Nigeria. I have to keep focused on playing here and whatever happens, happens."

On First Choice, He said:

Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City.

Tottenham 1-1 Leicester City: Musa cancels out Janssen opener.

Matthew Scott

It proved a frustrating afternoon at White Hart Lane for Spurs as they threw away their lead before being denied a win by the woodwork.

Ahmed Musa cancelled out Vincent Janssen's opener as Tottenham failed to find a way past Leicester City in Saturday's 1-1 Premier League draw.

Last season's main protagonists in the title race remain separated by eight points in the table, but avoiding defeat on the road for the first time in 2016-17 will have enthused Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri.

Spurs were utterly dominant in the first half and were deservedly ahead at the interval through Janssen, the summer signing scoring his third penalty of the season to open his Premier League account.

A combination of Kasper Schmeichel saves, poor Spurs finishing and the woodwork had kept Leicester in the game and they capitalised just three minutes after the break through Musa.

Having come into the contest just a point off top spot, Spurs dropped further behind Arsenal and Manchester City, although next weekend's North London derby gives them a chance to immediately respond.

Schmeichel was by far the busier of the goalkeepers in the first half, but the Dane stood firm to repel long-range efforts from Dele Alli and Danny Rose, while Christian Eriksen and Victor Wanyama were off-target from outside the box.

Leicester's first opportunity came after the half-hour mark, but Shinji Okazaki could only head a superb Riyad Mahrez cross over the crossbar.

That sparked a greater focus from Spurs' attack and Leicester were unable to limit them to pot shots as they had done previously, Janssen flicking wide before Alli rattled the bar from Kyle Walker's cut-back.

And the Foxes' resistance was broken a minute before the interval as Robert Huth was adjudged to have wrestled Janssen to the floor and the Dutchman kept up his impressive record from 12 yards so far this season.

Leicester's counter-attacking threat had been largely nullified, but they executed a perfect breakaway after 48 minutes, Jamie Vardy pouncing on Wanyama's loose touch to burst into the penalty area and square for Musa, who finished bravely under pressure from Walker.

Spurs again started to force the game, although the earlier pace had been sapped from their play and Leicester were able to drop in comfortably, reverting to their title-winning formula.

Schmeichel reacted sharply to hold a low, deflected Eriksen effort and Janssen again had the beating of Huth before clipping wide.

Spurs' final chances came and went in agonising fashion as Jan Vertonghen's powerful header hit the crossbar, before the Belgian then curled wide from 25 yards and Rose fired into the sidenetting, and Mauricio Pochettino will crave Harry Kane's return to add a clinical touch after five winless games in all competitions.

Little Known Nigerian Forward Osawe Scores Fourth Goal In Two League Games In Germany

https://i0.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/image-65.jpg?fit=523%2C594

Former Blackburn Rovers striker Osayamen Osawe who scored a hattrick five days ago for German side Kaiserslautern scored the winner as they edge Greuther Furth 1-0.

The goal was his fourth in two games but his fifth overall this season, with the hattrick against
Bochum on Monday complementing his goal
against Dynamo Dresden.

He joined Kaiserslautern in the summer from third division side Hallescher FC where he spent three seasons, and opened his goal account for his new side against them in a cup tie.

23 year old Osawe was born in Nigeria but moved to England at a very young age which qualifies him to represent them at international level.

However he is yet to be called up by any nation, but a call up to the Super Eagles looks more likely for the forward, as the German coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is reportedly keeping close tabs on him.

Its not hard to imagine his big visits were chelsea and watford. He didn't go just for pictures, he had an audience with both coaches and i'm sure he picked the brains for a thing or two.
.. for a thing or two like how the 3-4-3 will work against Algeria. grin

Bros he chose both teams bc Chelsea and Watford together have 4 Nigerian players. Chelsea also bc of the Mikel's non playing time and Watford could be to assess the recovery rate of Isaac Success. He also visited Arsene and Iwobi.

I guess he did not pick the brains for a thing or two from Wenger bc he does not play 3-4-3.

I am glad the coach did not turn his back on Musa, to me he is a victim of people's fear cuz hasn't done much wrong.

Ighalo Fires Blank As Watford Edge Hull City
By Augustine Akhilomen

Despite playing all 90 minutes, Super Eagles winger, Odion Ighalo couldn't find the back of the net as Watford managed a 1-0 win over Hull City at the Vicarage Road Stadium in Saturday's Premier League match.

Ighalo was expected to hit the goal scoring headlines after a poor run of form in the early part of the season, however, he couldn't find his way through the tough tackling Hull City defenders.

An own goal from Michael Dawson in the 83rd minute was enough to separate the two teams and give Watford coach, Walter Mazzarri something to smile about.

In all, Ighalo has managed to score just one goal this season. He'll be desperate to score more in their future matches if he's to maintain his place in the starting line-up.
