Some of these fans sef... So many abound like the first speaker.... sad They seek wing-back role yet they speak of him supporting the "right-fullback"..... Do some of them even understand who a wing-back is? Especially the first speaker... Looolllll.... Enjoy their views... smiley

Nigeria vs Algeria: Fans seek wing-back role
for Moses

Abakaliki – Football fans in Ebonyi have advised the Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, to field Victor Moses in the right wing-back position during the forthcoming Russia 2018 qualifier against Algeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that
Moses continued his rich form in that position
during Chelsea’s EPL match against Southampton on Sunday under its new 3-4-3/3-5-2 tactical formation.

Moses in the first half provided the assistance for Belgian Eden Hazard to score the first goal before Diego Costa’s sublime finish in the second half earned Chelsea a 2-0 win.

The fans told NAN on Monday in Abakaliki that
Moses’ rich form should be effectively utilised to
disorganise the North African team’s fluid pattern of play.

Edmund Ndukamma, a former Rangers
International FC of Enugu defender, remarked
that fielding Moses in that position would
immensely benefit the Eagles against Algeria.

“Moses will help the Eagles’ attack pile pressure
on the Algerian defence from the right wing
thereby disorganising their quick-pass
movements from its lethal left-wing.

“He will also assist the Nigerian right full back
which was problematic against Zambia in the
team’s first qualifier in Ndola,’’ he said.

Nicodemus Omenka, former Ebonyi Commissioner for Youths and Sports, corroborated Ndukamma’s claim, noting that Moses would play a vital role in the Algerian match.

“He is one of Nigeria’s hottest players in Europe
currently and his presence would psychologically affect the Algerians who are also grappling with their coaching problems.

“His blistering runs from the right wing will give
Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi more room to
operate, while also assisting the defenders to
curtail the Algerians’ incursions,’’ he said.

Jude Nlemchi, Colombia FC of Abakaliki player,
advised Rohr to place emphasis on current form
in selecting players to be fielded against the
Algerians.

“Players such as Moses, Iwobi, Iheanacho among others should be fielded against Algeria as the system worked against Zambia in Ndola.

“The Algerians play a `fast-paced’ style and the
Eagles need fit, aggressive and skilful players to
disorganise their strategy for the much needed
win,’’ he said.

Chief Silas Mgbebu, a businessman and soccer
enthusiast, urged the Eagles to approach the
Algerian match with serious determination as if
they were playing in a cup final.

“The players should replicate the level of
commitment for their clubs in the Algerian match to ensure the team achieves the much needed victory.

“Winning the match will make them the `group of death’ leaders before qualification hostilities
resumes in 2017 with the accompanying
psychological edge over their opponents,’’ he
said.

Mrs Scholastica Igwe, a civil servant and soccer
admirer, warned that the euphoria of the Algerian match if not properly handled, might affect the Eagles.

“The only sporting news on the airwaves currently is the match with Algeria and the euphoria should not be allowed to pile undue pressure on the players and officials,’’ she said.

Finally, I've seen the Tyronne guy. Abeg, are we trying to look like an SA team? grin

If we field him, our backline plus goalie will have just one black person, we don't want people to tune into the Nigerian match and think they're watching a different team, do we?

He's cute sha grin

Victor Moses: Wing-back has impressed this term

Jamie Redknapp was given a torrent of abuse

“young English talent getting a chance” at
Chelsea.

The pundit made the comment as part of Sky

Twitter for his big blunder.

"It's good to see a young English player doing well", says Jamie Redknapp of 25 year old Nigerian Victor Moses

Moses, meanwhile has admitted he is enjoying his new wing-back role and thanked his team-mates for helping him adapt so easily.

“I have not played there before but I have just
got to listen to what the manager asks me to do
in that position, and the way he wants me to do
it,” Moses said.

“Every game we play I just want to keep on
improving. The more games you play, the more
experience you get in that position. I’m really
relishing it at the moment and enjoying it.

“It’s very important to understand your team-
mates. I have got Cesar Azpilicueta there, the
spare right-back, who is behind me, and he
communicates with me and really helps me out to make sure I am in the right position.

“Defensively we all work as a unit in training and every day in training the manager is on top of us to make sure we are solid. He’s also very helpful on the touchline. He talks to you to make sure you’re in the right position.

Why is no one talking about Ahmed Musa? I know that we have good players like V.Moses and M.Simon who can also play in his position but his apace dribbles, ability to cut inside the box and so on can be very useful against the Algerians. He is a fearless/intrepid player that can score and perform well even against the toughest and impenetrable defense in the world. He is a player that gets going even when it is getting tough. The sturdy Argentine defense conceded two fantabulous goals from him in the erstwhile world cup, we saw how it was almost unfeasible for other teams/players to score against Argentina in that world cup.

And also, his recent laudable club form depicts that he deserves to start or feature as a second half substitute.
I wish to see him play the CF role again

Why Dutch Nigerian Ebuehi Turn Down
Super Eagles Invitation For Algeria Tie

Freshly invited Dutch born Nigerian full back
Tyronne Ebuehi has rejected the immediate
opportunity to commit his international future to
Nigeria by insisting on improving his club form for ADO Den Haag.

Ebuehi was among the list of players called up by Nigeria for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers, but the 20 year old has turned down the invitation,
although he didn’t rule out playing for Nigeria in
the future.

Born to Nigerian parent in Holland, they are fears that the boy is under pressure from the Dutch football authorities to wait for his time with the Dutch national team instead of playing for Nigeria.

“I see it as a great honor that I am noted in my
homeland,” says Ebuehi.

“But at this moment ADO Den Haag requires my full attention. Especially now that I am settled in the team. Therefore, it doesn’t seems to me like the right time to travel to Nigeria for the match. I want to focus completely on the club . but I certainly do not rule out playing for Nigeria in the future, if the next time am called up ” He told the club official website.

DISAPPOINTED ANDERSON ESITI VOWS TO
WORK HARDER AFTER EAGLES SNUB

Anderson Esiti

Belgium-based midfielder Anderson Esiti has
admitted he was surprised he was not picked by
Nigeria for a World Cup qualifier against Algeria,
but vowed to work harder to return to the team.
Defensive midfielder Esiti featured in the Eagles
2-1 win in Zambia earlier this month.

But he has been left out of the squad for the
match against Algeria on November 12 in Uyo.

“My not being invited came to me as surprise
because I thought I did well in the last match
when I came in in Zambia to merit another
invitation to the Super Eagles,” he said.

“Honestly speaking, I felt bad when a friend broke the news to me that I was not invited for the match against Algeria.

“Anyway I've moved on, and that can only make me to work harder at my club and give my best most especially if called upon again.”

The Gent midfielder made his Eagles debut in
June 2015 against Chad and was recalled by new coach Gernot Rohr for the World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola.

This is all wrong. Now the coach will start thinking of who to call up next. Better still Rohr can give a run out to to Daniel Adejo. Better we have one natural RB than not having at all.

IFEANYI MATTHEW GIVES NORWEGIAN CLUB
HOPE TO ESCAPE RELEGATION

Ifeanyi Matthew

Ifeanyi Matthew provided the assist for Lillestrom to open scores at bitter local rivals Valerenga and give his Norwegian club hope of escaping relegation.

The Nigeria star laid a low drive for Gary Martin to simply slot home after 32 minutes at the far post.

Sunday’s game was Ifeanyi Matthew’s seventh
appearance for Lillestrom and he has also scored
two goals.

Hosts Valerenga drew level in the derby for the
game to finish 1-1.

Valerenga are 11th place and on 35 points, they are safe.

Lillestrom, on the other hand, are a spot below in 12th position with 31 points.

They host Molde in the final game on Sunday and would need at least a draw to ensure they do not finish at worse below the relegation/promotion playoffs.

Tromso are 13th also on 13 points, but a far
inferior goals difference. They are home to third-
place Odd.

Bodo/Glimt currently occupy the relegation/
promotion bracket. They have 30 points and face a difficult road trip at new champions Rosenborg.

IK Start and Stabaek look doomed to be relegated automatically.

New Algeria Coach Reveals Tactics He Will Use To Keep Iheanacho and Iwobi At Bay

Newly appointed coach of Algeria George Leekens has revealed his plans to keep the deadly Nigerian duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi at bay when Nigeria play Algeria in Uyo.

Leekens while speaking with Le Buteur said his
team has defensive issues and playing against the deadly duo of Iheanacho and Iwobi , a defensive formation will be best.

The coach who recently left his spot as coach of
Belgian side Lokeren plans to play two extra
holding midfielder to nullify Iheanacho and Iwobi
coming through the middle.

A 4-2-3-1 formation is what he plans to use
against Nigeria, with specific instructions to the
midfielder to release the ball as quick as they can to the deadly duo of Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez.

He believes if he stops them from playing, Nigeria will struggle to create anything meaningful in attack, while his team will aim to catch them on the break.

“The pressure does not scare me at all and I am
motivated to succeed with the Greens. I can also say that I have a debt to the Algerian team,” Le Buteur quoted Leekens as saying on Sunday.

Red hot Austria Vienna striker Olarenwaju Kayode has continued his fine form in Austria with another goal as his team defeated Sturm Graz 2-0 in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday.

The former Flying Eagles star scored the second
goal in the 67th minute as Vienna picked up yet
another win in the league.

Starting for the fourth successive game, Kayode proved to be a thorn in the flesh of the Graz defence with his bursting runs and direct play.

Vienna went ahead in the 51st minute after a
scoreless first half when Raphael Holzhauser
scored for the home side to finally make their
domination count.

It was Kayode’s turn 16 minutes later as he
scored to put his team two goals ahead and
ensure the three points.

Another Nigerian striker, Bright Edomwonyi, was on from the start for the visitors Sturm Graz but was substituted in the 71st minute by Philipp Zulechner.

The 23-year-old has scored four goals in the
Austrian top-flight league and nine goals in all
competitions this season.

I agree. Omeruo should be used as R.B. For the game if Musa can't be trusted for that game.

After the game, we look expansively at our options. Hopefully, Moses Odubajo will be back after his six months layoff by April/May next year.

He's the answer to our rightback role but injuries is just delaying the "inevitable".

Musa Mohammed will grow to be prominent in that role too but firstly need to sort out his club issues by january.

Brian Idowu is another in the long run alongside Ehizibue (provided he too doesn't do an Ebuehi).

Dominic Iorfa Jnr is yet another. Haba!

Anyway, for now... It has to be Omeruo for Algeria unless Rohr wanna take the risk with "braveheart" Musa.

Or "under unlikely terms", it could be Victor moses as Right back and Simon/Musa Ahmed as the right AMF/Winger.

Na wa ooo... What a headache for Rohr... sad

I am sure, Ebuehi was contacted before the invitation. Maybe he didn't expect it to come so soon. He is playing for his team regularly and does not want an injury that will derail his progress

Okay Sir Tbaba.... Ebuehi's rejection hurts though.

All of Life is a risk... Who says he won't be injured in Ado den haag's next game? #foodforthought

Why does he make such negative excuse? Anyway... I understand him but he should know that all of life is a risk. Wish him the best and I hope he turns out for us in the long run...
