My parents won't choose who I'd get married to, but their approval is needed. If they don't approve, it's probably because they're seeing things their kids can't see YET, due to "love".

Finally, to answer your question... No, I wouldn't marry someone my parents don't approve of. There was someone who kept pressuring me to tell my parents about him. Knowing his BAGGAGE, I did not.
This is a man who's 48 (lied he was 44... right!), married (or whatever), been divorced before, has kids, can't seem to keep one steady job, and even his family members (half brothers) want nothing to do with him. No parent in their right mind would approve.

And I would go ahead to jump into fire? Hell no!
