Whenever I read comments on nairaland, I get disappointed, but reading comments from people like you is very encouraging.

When I read comments on this forum, I tend to wonder if we do not have objective people again in this country; must everyone take sides? Can't people put down very objective and critical reasoning without any form of biase, having the common good as priority?

Now, to the deployment of warships and soldiers; I won't comment, but just want state categorically here that, this is a grave mistake
. It will never and can never lead to any lasting peace in the Niger Delta; if anything, it will escalate the problem. For those who doubt it, the coming days shall tell.

Until fiscal federalism is introduced, there will always be agitation in the Niger Delta!

I AGREE WITH YOU ON THE FISCAL FEDERALISM PART.

On the deployment issue, people who know how "negotiations" are done will tell you that "You dont bargain from a position of weakness".
The millitants have been wreaking havoc for sometime now but as you try to negotiate with them, you must gove them something to also think about, incase negotiation fails.

This is how you bring "people to the negotiation table" otherwise, if they are winning, they will begin to wonder: Why should l even be negotiating, when l can take it by force?

Carrot and Stick my friends!

War against Book Haram and that of Niger delta agitators are poles apart.while FG is busy fighting BH oil exploration in the Niger delta was going on,but war in the Niger delta will affect all,and hinder oil exploration.Dialogue should have been the best option but this dumb FG cant see clearly.

did you read the part that said the deployment is coming a day after PMB met with niger delta leaders? Obviously the dialogue didnt yield any positive result.

Just like crocodile smile, this operation will turn to nothing except gra gra.

Dialogue and True Federalism remains the key to the naija delta question as well as 90% of this country's problem, Let every region take responsibility of their resources, pay their bills, handle their security, e.t.c.

Until we de-centralize the power in Abuja, this country will remain in quagmire till forever.
