House please I need help my engineer who happens to be my cousin is pouring 9inches concrete which he said that that's how every foundation are been done now, that one must put up that amount of concrete at the ground before laying the first block... Now for 4bed room flat foundation has taken 58 bags of cement just for the foundation.. Please builders I need ur urgent help |

Dats totally wrong. Even if the area is a weak ground. That amount of celebrity not needed. |

Buking1:please tell him that you are ok with four inches provided proper level have been taken, i have never seen a nine inches slab before. |

It is very okay but not economical at all. My guess is that your cousin is a young engineer, he probably doesn't want to take any chance at all. I'll advice you get help from an experienced Engineer that would guide your cousin to avoid further unnecessary expenses. Wish you luck ! |

danemenike:you said it how it is Cox I have spent alot just for small upstairs building of this and the style I even wt to use is 2bedroom upstairs 4bedroom down but I hv spent almost 2m for just foundatuon in my own papa land |

if it's upstairs,let say a storey building 9inch/230mm is needed,but if it's a bungalow 6inch/150mm will be fine.Always consult a professional. seun_smileuk@yahoo.com |
