These ignorant lunatics heaping scorn on Soyinka must be only doing so in blind hatred, they must have been spurred by the daunting revelation that though they may toil the earth, though they may cudgel their brains, they would never be as successful as, nor ever enjoy the universal popularity which Soyinka's hardwork and literary genius conferred upon him.

Pathetic sìmpletons. If you cannot give respect to whom respect is due, but decide to anchor your commentaries on tribal divides, then you really need to shoot yourself in the head as not only are you a nuisance to yourself, you are also a nuisance to the world.

Igbo people really need to dial it down a few notches in the derogatory Afonja reference meant to provoke the ire of the Yorubas. Why not sit down to study history in order to really understand the whole Afonja story? What's with this Afonja madness anyway?

What a ragtag band of confuzzled, semi-illiterate Nimrods.

If only great Igbo men like Chinua Achebe could part the silky curtains veiling the land of the dead from human sight and see how his sons and daughters have become sons and daughters of perdition, sowing seeds of hated and tribalism and fostering division with their imprudent verbal ejacülations, I'm sure he would weep until he is whelmed in his own tears.

The Hausas are already the most hated tribes in Nigeria. The Igbos – especially the pipsqueaks among them whose mental outlook have been panel-beated by the hammers of illiteracy and bigotry – need to dim the colors of their arrogance and cheekiness born of youthful exuberance and crass ignorance, before they become the second most hated tribe.

It's unfortunate you've been disappointed. But those are my views.

I'm showing a relationship between the soldiers' deaths and the prisoner swaps. Thousands of people including women and children have been kidnapped by these same terrorists. All I'm saying is that Nigeria did not get a good deal from the negotiations.

And considering the politics being played with this Chibok saga, all of these state actions call for deeper scrutiny.

About Islamophobia, I don't know what news you're reading. A muslim walked into a gay bar in Chicago and started spraying bullets. Gays are beheaded in Saudi Arabia. And for some reason, I or Trump is the enemy. How many people have homosexuals killed? Even with the persecution around the world, do you know of any gay militia shooting and blowing people up.

Muslims can't stand the western way of life, so they can congregate in their countries where it's fine and okay to live according to their culture. Minorities in Islamic countries are persecuted in their numbers, maybe it's Karma serving them back.

Let the Islamic countries keep their people. They're rich and there are plenty of opportunities for them.

We're talking about the safety and preserving the Western way of life from an hostile culture. And all you can see is the bickering. Trump may be a conservative and has his issues with same-sex relations. But same-sex couples and hetero couples are going to put the safety of themselves, their kids (adopted or not), and their family above other things.

-Lord

A gay walked into the gay bar and pulled a trigger. The 'Muslim' was actually found to be gay and a frequent customer at that bar. A christian walked into a nursery school and pulled a trigger. An academic walked into a theatre and pulled a trigger. A Korean American walked into a college and pulled another trigger. Trump should ban Muslims, gays, academics, Christians, and Korean Americans. US citizens have actually committed more trigger pulling crimes than immigrants..a murder every 2 minutes and a rape every 5 minutes. Maybe all US citizens should also be banned from the US. Talk sense mister.

Incidentally, clarify what you mean by 'Islamic countries'. There are born US citizens, members of the armed forces, etc who are Muslims. Which 'Islamic country' should they leave the homeland that they were ready to die for, and what makes the US a non Muslim country anyway?

African's leaders should learn to takecare of their responsibilities. Lazy set of African leaders example of what we have been having here in nigeria as leaders without visions. Obama's kids are schooling in US, nigerian leaders kids are schooling outside nigeria with looted funds meant for over 180 millions nigerians projects. During elections mumu youths, SSS/DSS, Police, judges/lawyers, INCE and many more will exchange their responsibilities for akara, yam, maggi, salt, rice, bread and peanuts. After the elections they will come back with the SONGs "our salaries have not been paid for so so months. Shame on you all illiterates with degrees.

Are you for real?

The school and theater shootings were from loose cannons. It had nothing to do with religious beliefs which the gay bar shooting was about.

So maybe you want to check facts before lumping everything together.

Islamic countries know themselves. Or would you call Saudi Arabia a Christian country.

US-born muslims are in the clear. Muslim immigrants that can't be 100% vetted are the ones caught in the cross hairs.

The US is a secular country that can choose to go against any ideology that threatens the American way of life.

All you liberals are sick in the head!

Before terrorism became a thing in the West, muslims in America were very well tolerated. Even better than gays, people of color, and women. The change in perception directly reflects the changing times. You better accept the change or get stucked in the past.

Islamists are a danger to the Western way of life. You can't argue that. The Asian way of life is compatible, the European way of life is compatible, Africans same way, and South Americans too. Only the Mohammedans want the Western way of life to be eliminated or at best curtailed. Who else has this same non-tolerant view?

You can keep going to a gun-fight with a knife and then ask yourself why you're receiving bullet wounds instead of knife wounds. Your choice. Americans, the British, Greeks, Slovaks, et cetera have chosen the opposite.

You are an African, you can't be more liberal than the same people who gave you a bloodless independence and scrapped slavery against their own economic benefits. So, stop the posturing and come together to solve African problems rather than talk about issues you know virtually nothing about except what the mainstream propaganda sells to you.

Very true.

The American establishment has been trumped by Trump hence all the jittery during electioneering campaigns and after he won. Criminal minded idiots and moles like the prof bought into such pull him down when he ought to be more concerned about the state of our nation vis-à-vis growing insecurity and failing econony rather than disgracing himself dabbling into partisan politics.

The rise of terrorism across the globe is the handiwork of Saudi, CIA in collusion with the powers that be most especially in America...the bush family, Clinton's, gun lobbyists and others who benefits from crisis for selfish agendas.

The spill over of immigrants from crisis zones into europe will also help spread Islam / terrorists. It's a tacit wahabist agenda by Sunnis and their collaborators.

And any discerning individuals should know that the victory of Trump is a serious headache for such individuals / organizations who felt his stand on such issues won't be to their own benefits.

Lord o need.to buy you some bottles of origin jare.......i like people who speak it as it is from simple observation. The funny part is when you say this facts as they are they label you an islamophobe, yet they see the facts and deny it. All moderate muslims love the idea of sharia, they might not be radicals but that fact in itself shows all. Sharia is opposed to western way of life its just as simple as that.

funny thing these refugees fleeing their hostile regions don't want to go to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, malaysia and Iran. They all wanna go to Europe and the west, question is why doesn't there rich muslim brothers take these refugees and immigrants into their borders? someone is definitely playing smart somewhere. This is the simple reason why Trump won, let them stay in them sharia countries and practice their religion to their hearts content, and Trump hopefully will pull america out of their affairs......it what they've always wanted. they all blame america for the conflict in their region. Let them support trump if that's the case, except they have another agenda which they aren't letting us in on.

Bros, the truth is that tribalism and hatred is shared among all groups that make up Nigeria. Every tribe is guilty of this.

In fact, tribal division and hatred is a black thing. What is happening in Nigeria today in terms of tribalism and hate happens in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, SA etc unfortunately it has no cure cos that is how the black mind is wired.

Story. When did they ever help us? They came to collect their own Intel on Boko. They then concealed it from FG. Only Russia sold us weapons used till today.

Obama pandered to Arab allies and shunned black Africa. Bill Clinton and Bush assisted Africa far better. Obama's regime has been a disgrace regarding Africa.

Even Obama's brother in America supported Trump. He did nothing for his family. He was scared of associating with Africa. Only in speeches, no action on Africa.

In one way the prof. was right.

Because america help is vital to many countries in so many cases.
One example was during the ebola period in west africa, it was america that led the world helped those ebola ravaged countries. Those west african countries lacked the capacity to overcome the problem.

Forever we will be thanking the great america country and the world for the help.

Rubbish!

Typical Afonja.

When the US denied Nigeria arms, stopped Israel from selling us arms, coerced Saudi Arabia to deny us access to fly our arms across their airspace, all under GEJ, was that the support the US gave to us?

How about the US stalling, and waiting for Oritsejafor to address Congress before designating BH as a terror group?

Always like changing history.

Or is it the paltry millions they gave to MNUTF or the scrap mine sweepers they donated to us that we should be happy about!

The US can shove it's support where the Sun does not shine.

We were doing fine with the T72 tanks from Russia, the South African mercenaries, and our gallant men, until they foisted a seni.le terrorist on us who released boko haram commanders in exchange for phantom Chibok girls. Today, we've lost gallant men like Col. Ali that expelled terrorists from Baga and the days of steady killing of our soldiers are back.

We know the silly game 'em Obamas and Clintons were playing. Trump may not be perfect, but we know he is no Obama or a Clinton. And that's a plus in our book.

We'd send these terrorists to the great beyond with or without their help. We've done it before. We'll do it again.

Their plan to demonize Trump over here has failed already. Obama foisted Buhari the failure. Both himself and Clinton are dead to us. As he leaves the White House, let him not use the Negro race to score cheap points. Because he failed Africa (from Nigeria to Libya to Egypt). He should align with his Muslim heritage. His name is Hussein, ain't that right?!

This is much ado about nothing. It does not make any iota of difference if he tears it or not; it is just a piece of paper, all he need do to get a new one is to fill some USCIS replacement form and mail it with a nominal fee and viola! He gets a new one.

If he truly meant to reject his permanent residency, he need not tear his green card, he should simply write USCIS asking them to cancel it or he can even do that at the US embassy in Nigeria.
