It is very simple goan drive the manual... just comman be running mouth here!

Anyways some individuals love the excitement of driving a manual car either for recreation or just admiration for the system.

It doesn't make an automatic driver less of a driver but in my opinion driving an automatic is fun too, but can be very boring and considered a lazy man's job by some

After a long time enjoying my manual, I drove an automatic and almost killed myself, "stepped on the break so hard thinking it was the clutch".

Perfect oyinbo engineering... u don't see supper cars with complete automatic shift cos the driver needs to feel that power!

My dear are u then saying its an impossible situation??
I'm saying, considering the ratio of manual cars to automatics in the country currently, the probability of that happening is very low.

Keep telling yourself that.

Where you would go with your manual car, I would go there too with my automatic car. I might even get there faster than you would if my vehicle is faster than yours undecided
don't you know manual is faster than auto if they have same speed capacity?

Op Don't mind the manual drivers, they are always jealous because deep down, they wish they have access to the modern automatic drive.

In fact the feigned "superiority complex" is actually a reverse psychology of INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

Re: Manual Drivers, Why The Superiority Complex? by Bluffly: 8:02am On Nov 12, 2016
Because Manual drivers need to be fully intune with everything to get to the destination while auto just focus on point A to B.

When driving manual you pay attention to you revs to know when to shift but auto doesn't require that. In manual you drive with your full brain, legs and hands while auto is just a partial effort.

The basic superiority is quite obvious.

it can be stressful when you wanna make a quick by pass/overtaking and your gear selector thinks you are being too mean on the gas pedal, you know what I mean?? or at a hilly road and your cars system still think the third of fourth gear is still okay to take you through, in summary you ain't in control of your ride, the system invariably rides you........ its fun when you have both transmission, I prefer the manual rides for a long journey, while the auto for short inter city movements.

I see ladies painting face while driving, pinging, playing games while driving, can you do that in manuals?

Manuals reduce the rate of accidents, automatic is for "I don't want to stress myself drivers"

Rather is auto drivers that have inferiority complex becus a manual driver can drive both auto and manual of wch auto driver can't so stop deceiving yourself go and learn how to drive.

Driving an automatic doesn't make you an automatic driver if you can drive manual, you are still a manual driver. A manual driver is one who can drive both manual and automatic cars. An automatic driver is one who is confined to automatic alone.
Who is superior?..... I have seen someone who forfeited the official car because he couldn't drive manual. Automatic has more driving luxury but manual has more control. Sometimes you prefer luxury over control, sometimes you prefer control over luxury.

Most new model super cars are auto (without manual option) because of efficiency & customer demand. But you can't really drive if someone gives you a key & you have to ask what kind of transmission the car uses.
I learnt with manual & auto came naturally, can't say the same for auto peeps...they'll just burn your clutch, or run into whatever is in front when starting the car.

pocohantas, enjoy your automatic (you can move your car to anywhere you like) but if you want versatility learn manual also
Re: Manual Drivers, Why The Superiority Complex? by bastien: 8:18am On Nov 12, 2016
@pocohantas
The only difficult thing in car is the steering, if you can really steer a car, then you already know how to drive. Also note that steering have numbers, which 70% of drivers in Nigeria don't know!

For a beginner, manual is hard, because of the gear and two leg drive, but when u have mastered it, you will be the one to tell others that's its easy!

To drive manual, the simplest thing u should do first is to check if you leg is pressing the clutch down to the ground, if it's not, then u have to adjust your sit.

2ndly, without clutching down, the gear won't be open to shift, and you won't be able to get your neutral, so you have to clutch down, and shift the gear right to left, to know if it's in the middle (neutral)

Thirdly, since you have gotten your neutral, you can choose to start the girl without clutching down or start it with clutching down the pedal

Fourthly, after you have on the car, clutch down, then shift the gear to the left side and then to the top (which is mostly gear 1 in all Asia cars eg Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia etc)

Five, release your left leg from the clutch gradually, (the best way to remove your leg when your are making a movement iand and you don't want the car to jerk and off, is by releasing your leg three times, gradually)

Note: while releasing your leg from the clutch, it's not a most you apply the accelerator (gas), cause manual cars can move without accelerator (gas)

If the argument here is Manual transmission is better than Auto, then I'd sit on the fence on this one but if the argument is if Auto drivers are as good as manual drivers, i'd say a capital NO.

MOST auto drivers that never learned a Manual cannot drive a Manual but ALL Manual drivers will drive an AUTO comfortably on the first try without any hassle.

Auto drivers can drive but they're not good drivers in the real sense of the world as they're limited to only one transmission but Manual drivers can play with both transmissions.

In the U.K. When you have an automatic licence you are restricted to automatic cars only but with a manual Licence you can drive both. ...
This is the real issue. In Nigeria, the driving licence is not categorized into automatic or manual. If we had such categories, with the above-mentioned restriction on the automatic licence, then each driver would know his or her place, and there would be no need for argument.

Thank God you said you haven't seen, not that there aren't auto trucks.
Automatic drivers can't DRIVE? Abeg define driving undecided

@OP it's all because manual drivers see themselves as being versatile. Y'know not having to ask if a car is manual before they grab them car keys...

For someone whose sole aim is to get from point A to B, auto is perfect. 'but I noticed car enthusiasts do more of the stick shift.
Them say we no fit drive.....wetin we come dey do with the steering?

Does it play out like this in reality? How many people around you have manuals that it will be the only car available? cheesy
It's not an analogy...the day it happened to me I felt very embarrassed......cos my babe too was like what da heck? U can't drive..I had to start explaining to her that I ddnt learn with a manual transmission....those kinda scenario usually comes up,thank God the person ddnt die...the second scenairo was..my fridge stopped working so I wanted to move it to the engineer's shop.I tried every position but the fridge couldn't fit into my car...my neighbour saw me struggling nd offered help with her car since it a hatchback.....I mounted the fridge at the back of the car successfully only for me to get in and found out the car was a fvcking manual....the first thing she said was....cant u drivehuh....I couldn't respond cos technically, I actually can't drive a the fvcking car given to me...I had to spend 3k to transport the fridge cos she said she can't drive me to the place cos of her little baby....
