Nigeria keeps focusing on the wrong things: you need PROPER VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS, not "we are training youths to be plumbers and carpenters and bricklayers", dooming them to be minimum wage workers forever. Skilled vocational workers and employee protection. There are Nigerians who know this job but I constantly see poor Indians flocking into the country to take the jobs because they are better skilled than Nigerians and their bosses are in positions of power to protect those jobs for them.

We must learn the difference between foreign investment and foreign exploitation before beating our chests and shouting good development whenever a foreign company comes here. Ericsson is a global company and like the spokesman said... it will look to cut operating costs to satisfy its customers. The company came to set up shop here to exploit the cheap labour force and was given a lot of concessions and liberty unlike other African countries that spelled out the conditions under which they would operate.
It is fair to blame Buhari since most likely their reason for transferring jobs has to do with foreign exchange. It is also fair to blame GEJ for allowing them to operate with little or no strings attached.
Lastly...companies do this all the time....no job that is based on the Internet and can be remotely done is secured..companies can always shift and India is the #1 recipient of such jobs.

The fact is, Buhari is a psychological and social representation of Nigerians. You people talk as if the guy just voted himself into power. People collectively vote for leaders who they envisage to be like them. If buhari is an illiterate, it is because Nigerians are mostly illiterate. If he is slow, it is because Nigerians are mostly slow. If he is a dullard, it is because Nigerians are collectively dull. Sometimes when you look at yourself in the mirror you might not like what you see.

Erricson is cutting jobs globally. They lost out to huawei, and IHS in Nigeria. The lost a mojor one with MTN Nigeria, where IHS Towers took over all MTN sites.
They seem to cut more jobs in Nigeriaa Africa cos they lost out in the game to other players, same way starcomms and the likes lost out.
The last time i checked, when the minister of Labour threatened banks, for not going tru the normal process to cut jobs, you and your friends started shouting military regime, dictator and all derogatory statements against the government. It is better to be informed before commenting than commenting purely based on hate
