What actually happens when "militants" in the Delta blow up pipelines ?

I am truly not sure; in my imagination, I see black, thick crude spill on land before Flow is cut off by some means unknown to the layman like me by the relevant oil company. I imagine oil settle, darken and congeal into the soil. I imagine that when rain falls, dilutable hydrocarbons seeps underground. I imagine that in some places the land alone is damaged but in other places where there are the right confluences of coincidences, farm land is ruined incrementally or water tables underground polluted.

What actually happens when the military blows up those illegal barges lurking in the shadows of mangroves along some of the many channels of the delta we see on those youtube videos?

I am not sure but I imagine that when the barge sinks (or not) gallons, if not tons of oil, leech into the rivers.

I am sure however that Militants and Military should stop, they should talk, or one day Nigerians will wake up and discover that the most catastrophic environmental damage the world has ever known since Hiroshima and Nagasaki will is on our doorstep. I also believe that the people of the Niger Delta need to take control of their lands and kick out against this type of Militancy. Delta needs her intellectuals and environmental activists and those intellectuals and activists need to call upon legal means to challenge Oil companies and governments. Well-meaning Nigerians elsewhere should support the Deltans too. Marshall plan for the development of the area needs to be advocated also in the process.

This is the result of the naija Delta militant bombing pipes. bombing pipes and destroying oil facilities is not the best because it will keep on affecting their environment. The environment is been poluted day by day. To matter the million dollars for the clean up. if they do not stop bombing, the result will still be the same. The issue of naija Delta is just like book haram. we they destroy the NE we have IDPs suffering. when naija delta keep on bombing the environment become poluted.

It was very clear to me that those children must have been asked told hold the buckets and cups so that the pictures will be taken.
