@ opeyemi. You can't study for MPH Field Epidemiology Practice in UI with Bsc Biochemistry but you can study for MPh Field Epidemiology. Both programmes are different. The former is sponsored by the CDC/Ministry of Health and is targeted at Doctors, Vet Doctors and Lab scientist/Microbiologists who have worked for the governement [federal, state, local] for not less than 2 years while the latter is for anyone whose first degree is in the medical/paramedical sciences. Hope this helps.

See what to expect below

The interview wasn't a pass or fail thing. It was about impressing the panelists, however possible.

Remember they pruned down from 15 to 10 supposedly.

I dropped a clue on what to read before

- Disease triad
- probability
- basic statistics
- history, transmission, control, and prevention of common diseases of public health importance.

In addition to these, try and read on infectious disease epidemiology, especially vaccine preventable diseases. If possibe, you can buy Park"s book of preventive and social medicine and read the first five chapters. Also basic statistical epidemiology such as the meaning and interpretation of odds ratio, confidence interval etc will be required. You may also familiarize yourself with concepts such as bias, confounding, effect modification as they apply to epidemiology.

Is there any difference between Masters in public health technology offered in FUTO and Masters in Public health offered in UI and other schools?
Are the 2 same degrees?

Those are very good areas to look at right now in Nigeria, even though they all are.

You can become a consultant advising people/government/NGO's on proper hygiene

Or more as a resource person

I think there's more interesting things in that area.

I don't understand the the reason for the question. FUTO public health degree is among the very few public health degrees offered in Nigeria that is recognized by the international body that regulates the practice of public health.

Yes you are.

MPH is currently not administered in part time in UI. I stand corrected, but that was the status quo the last I checked.

Might be different for Unilag.

You might consider Mental Health or Global Health. I think that relates well with your study and your work right now.

General public health (disease formation, control, etc)

Reproductive health challenges ( STDs, HIV AIDS, and other diseases of public health significance that are linked to reproduction of sexual habits)
Disease triad, communicable diseases, and diseases that thrives in populations.

Look at probability and statistics too
Good luck
