I was born into a Christian family. Just like most of everyone I drifted away and during that time I mocked Christians for being hypocrites. I later became born again and to my chagrin found myself being as hypocritical as much as the pharisees. I abandoned Christianity. Now I know why it is almost impossible to be a Christian without being hypocritical
1. Christianity is unnatural and not even supernatural. It is not organic in the sense that it imposes beliefs, strangles you with imperatives and commands that do not come from within and have not place from the mainspring of genuine action:the heart. It condemns and tags everything natural as sin.
2. The Holy Spirit who is supposedly the one to help Christians in living the christian life is unknown to most Christians in their spiritual experience both individually and as a body(church)
3. Christianity is based on a book called the Bible subject to interpretation, personal views and opinions.
4. Every Christian expects the other Christians to act in Christian ways. This creates an incredible amount of pressure. Hypocrisy is the natural human response in the face of such overwhelming yet false expectation.
5. Christianity treats Souls en mass, treats people as an indiguishable lump yet each individual is unique and different and carries in his heart the genius of his life. In Christianity the individual finds himself submerged in a plastic sea that swallows his own soul, he finds himself in a place where his true self cannot find expression.
7. In Christianity there's no transformation, no metanoai, no true and deep spiritual change because the word(preaching) comes in an abstract way from a pastor standing afar on a pulpit preaching to people he barely knows. No! The word that transforms must be an intimate word coming like from a loving father to a son.
8. Though Christianity hinges on the belief that Jesus is alive, the holy Spirit is present etc yet the atmosphere in most churches is cold and dead. In other churches especially pentecostal churches there's a lot of noise, excitement, dancing and entertainment but it's all empty. God is absent or at least his presence is almost never felt.
9. Most churches are religious factories churning out religious products and they are always in a hurry to meet production deadlines hence we have first service, second service, third service.
10. Relationships among Christians lacks true human authenticity. Christianity even with all the talk about grace creates demands. Demands create pressures. Human beings are not relationally wired to live by demands even in the name of God!

I heard so many talk the way you've talked. Ive had them as colleagues and friends. I went to school so I can reason rationally too but I thank God that before every other doctrine started hitting me I had already known the holy spirit and understand the answers to secrets and questions that put God in a bad light. Ive had both physical and spirit manifestations that that has made my Christianity an experience. you have logical points and facts in ur statement but the answer to those facts are deeper than the knowledge your judging them with.......how I wish you stayed longer in Christ and understood how to judge times

In fact, I've made the a MUST to watch and screen the thoughts I allowed into my heart let alone pondering on them, talkless of transforming them to action. "Guide your heart with all diligence, for out of it proceeds the issues of Life" Proverbs 4:23. If you had the opportunity that I currently have (girls continually wooed and toast me on Whasapp, etc.) you'll be celebrating thinking you are lucky, but by I realized that is the easiest way to submit my Destiny to destruction; hence I always flee. I don't act superman that cannot fall; I simply don't allow them into my Privacy. Just yesterday, I blocked another girl from my whasapp for disturbing me. This is not to boast but to show people like you that thinks abstinence can only happen because of lack of opportunity. Pray that GOD should open your eyes: when you've seen where GOD Almighty is taking you to, you'll do anything to protect your Destiny.

You lied. This is what the Op is talking about being narrow or close minded and pride. I can't explicitly say I do any of these things but has a human being I could,so I just learn from what is written,and try to write them on my heart so as to overcome them when the temptation to do anyone of them arises.
Stop being hypocritical, you are not a christian because you scored high in morality but only because you believed in Jesus ROM 5:1 ,ROM 3:20-25.

And that is why Religion should stop judging morals, that someone smoke and you don't doesn't make you better than the person.
Salvation is free,all we did to get it is Believe, why then give many laws, many do and donts and judge people base on their moral values?

Your post is okay, not surprising, and exactly what it is: an attempt at watering down the import of how and when the teachings of Christ should affect and shape the Christian, by vain and intellectual spectacles viewing the Christian life. You have some valid points actually, I will admit.
One is either a Christian, or not. Forget claims. A christian hinges his belief squarely on the Scriptures, undiluted and raw as it is. And it will be foolhardy to infer that the Word of God, which is God, is not capable of covering every shade of wisdom. What form of exclusivity are you then referring to?

The talk of ominous prophecies makes me laugh. When that kings aide doubted that food would be so cheap just the next day, the question is, did it happen, or not, exactly as it was said or not? When Noah predicted the deluge, did it happen, or not? When I also say that anyone who has relations in the Force should NEVER encourage them to go when the allied forces of the world team up against Israel, because they WONT come back, watch and see. Is God our classmate?

The line between corrective love and being judgemental is a slim, fine one, if we want to be sincere. Else there should be no preaching....of course what we even have in churches today is motivational talk.. No sound repentance oriented gospel. John the baptist called people brood of vipers. I won't do that today, but the burden of preaching requires bluntness and crudity as the Scriptures calls it. I wont call homosexuality being gay. I won't call an armed robber a business mogul.

What else should I use my social media account for, if not to tell friends about the pure love of Christ that prompted Him to atone for our sins, and the consequences of rejecting it? What else, exactly? When according to Ecclesiastes our primary duty here is to keep Gods commandments?

I agree that presentation matters in everything, but a lot of people are building fortresses with blocks of such trivialities to avoid facing the realities of their spiritual dispositions.

And to these people bemoaning what Christians are just NOT, they will still face the music for their own lives, God will not pardon you, a sinner because the Christian didn't show good example to you. Everyone will still answer for himself or herself.
