OP, if you are attending a church or fellowship were you are neither getting sound teachings from the pulpit nor able to meet any one better in understanding than you, then you better find another branch/parish/denomination. There's nothing like being around persons who can help you seek God for answers to your life questions, while giving you the support and encouragement you need.
Without too much talk, the two are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! If you are suspicious of the usefulness of your tithe in the church you are attending, better relocate. Don't listen to those who have lost faith in pastors. Both giving are important and attract their rewards, depending on your motive, the pastor over where you pay tithe (if he is called;serving God wholeheartedly), and the person(s) (either in church or outside) that is REALLY NEEDY. May God grant us all understanding and a heart of full obedience.

Matthew 25:40 says:

This is how you people emburse greedy pastors like Oyedepo to build 3 multi-billion naira private universities in Nigeria using their tithes which even most members of his church can't attedend due to how expensive it is. They believe in tithes but don't believe in charity baa... Soo make the poor people wey need am pass chill with hunger while the pastors the buy different private Jets. Nonsense

sorry to dissappoint you. i am not a pastor, neither am i planning to be one any time soon. pastors who turn tithe to jeun jeun will have their own judgement. it won't be wise to follow those kinds of pastors to where they will end up, while giving flimsy excuse like "its this man of God wey dey chop tithe discourage me o!" .....and such persons will hear something like "na man of God die for you or abi na me?" THE WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE.

Ive been in The Lord's Chosen Ministry for 12 years. Am not a pastor. I've never been given money. But I benefit from my pastor his prayers and words of exhortation, which stresses on obedience to God so we can be saved in the Jugdement of God.

And I pay my offering and Tithe for the sponsorship of God's work, which includes but not limited to crusades which cost millions each, Maintenance of buses for free transport, Media publication, branch establishments etc

Even the money given to my pastor as gift, he has vowed to God never to use any of them for self improvement but God's work. And he will never collect your money but ask you to pay to church account which is not in his control. It in the control of the adminstrtors department. This is a genuine man of God.

That's wonderful if the truth is in you sir...am not against tithening but I mostly help the poor and people in need especially the hungry people...some churches are rich enough to deal with their needs....don't refer me to Malachi pls...just live me and my God... We know how we do it and the blessings CNT just stop flowing. But itbget me angry to see a member of a rich church looking tattered while the pastors changes cars every time and call it a blessing. At least...i give out nothing less than 60k to 70k out of my income to the needy...everymonth. Work according to your faith...I pray we all inherit Gods kingdom on the last day. But come o...so na your church member they roll for potopoto...,sumalsulting, during evengelism? If dem get injury God no send dem o.

Mal 3:10 please study this verse and ask the holy spirit for understanding. Pay your tithe so that there will be meat in the house of God and prove God if he will not open the windows of your heaven, open Heaven means(breakthrough in health, finance, career, Grace,marriage, favour, long life, glory, Blessing e.t.c). Please we should delete the thought of not paying tithe from our mind.

Obeying the law IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE.
And yes. Well it's not your concern of they get injury. They mostly don't.And are very happy doing it because they are intoxicated with Joy of God and the praises and don't mind humiliating themselves.

Most people in sickness and sorrows will appreciate it more than those that think they have it all or can solve their problems themselves.

Moreover, we also know that we are doing the will of God who will reward us in eternity. And we are more happier. Heaven rejoices for each soul that is converted from sinner to saint. And a great reward is given to the one (s) responsible. Jesus said lay treasures for yourself in Heaven instead of Earth. This is what gives the biggest treasures. Winning souls. It is God's business BIG TIME.

Can you imagine this people? I dont pay tithe. Oya come and drive me away from church. I wont do what I dont believe in. If you want to pay your tithe then pay it. If they call for contribution for church project, I can contribute and offer my services to it for free. However, I will not give 10% of my income for whatever reason and no devourer will devour my income. All these scare tactics cant work on me. Some churches will even say all those that pay tithe that month should come (or dance) forward and those that didnt should stay behind. Is all this in the bible? Yes, churches need money but they should stop obtaining it from members through dubious means.

Under the new covenant of Jesus christ, I am a child of Christ the king according to the order of melchizedek ...but in whatever case we are guided by the holy spirit, the comforter who God has left us..and he has been guiding me to pay my tithe and it has been working for me... so dear brother or sister in Christ do what works for you
