Being poor in this country is very dangerous.
Emergency services is not about wealth. A rich man could find himself unconscious, unidentified and unattended to.

A rich man who finds himself unconscious will be attended to by his aids and taken to the best health care money can buy. He may not have money on him buy will be attended to any ways since he is known to be rich.

I wont blame the doctors bt d nurses.
my experience was similar thou, i had a bike accident on October 17 precisely. got to a nearby primary health centre around 8am and u couldnt believe d gate man said the nurses havent resumed duty so he cant allow me in despite seeing my leg gushing out blood. I told him to please offer me seat in other to wait for them and he still refused, he said i can only stand outside (hw can i stand with my leg bleeding). I was standing there until i was abt to faint and i started praying loudly but this gateman wasnt bothered at all (pple was starting to gather around). I told gal that went with me to lets go cos i cant keep standing till eternity and that was how i went to a general hospital. On getting there, they also delayed until we paid the bills thou they attended well immediately the bills were paid. I jst thank God everytyn is over nw and it was jst a minor suture that was carried out and healing is taking place.

Those are films. If you don't have insurance you get tossed out on your ass. they even know hence theybdont bother going to the hospital without insurance.

The key word in this case is insurance. When we have proper insurance services this type of tale would end.

Once you show your insurance number and its.confirmed, you get treated asap. No time for many questions.

But would Nigerians pay for health insurance. No they won't. They would rather gamble with thier lives and blame the hospitals when they are rejected without.cash.

A good health insurance scheme is what's needed.

Another problem that woukd arise in Nigeria is the fact that Those who pay and don't get sick would consider it A waste not knowimgnthey paid Someone to.bear thier.risk.

It is well
i understand better now, but what if it's a case of an accident and someone is in coma, probably taking to a clinic by A good Samaritan, will they still demand for the health insurance b4 saving lyf ?

Dude you have no idea how advanced those people are.

An unconscious person who isn't off the grid can be identified in minutes. Fingerprints, dental records, identity cards etc.

With all that information getting his insurance won't be a problem.

That's how a system is supposed to work unlike here where they can't even correctly register sum cards

You won't blame the doctors but the nurseshuh Your story did not corelate with your first statement. Aren't there supposed to be doctors there too...community health workers and others? But you have to single out nurses because they are the easiest professionals to bash.

I won't be quick to blame the Doctors knowing that they don't eat sand and dust.

They have bills to pay..

What we should be asking is, do government make provisions for accident victims?

Our Doctors must not beg to eat in the name of working for free. It is a government hospital, and as such, government is to blame.

Just to enlighten some ignorant and hypocrite minds. There is something they call inventory in business. Would you, as an employee, misuse your company's stock to cure an accident victim, knowing that you stand the risk of being sacked, and dying of starvation at the end?

There is absolutely nothing an ordinary employee (staff) can do about it. Blame the government for a non existing and poorly managed policy for emergency/accident cases.
pls and pls think deep before u type. I don't pray it is u neither will be ur victim that will be affected oo. But if it is them what will u do hmmm. We just have stupid set of medical personnel. Ordinary help they can't render. May God help us.

Damn well, I am really angry. Why singling nurses out. So if nurses are not there others are not supposed to be or shouldn't be at their duty post. Where is the record office, clerk, doctor and community health officer? There are whole lots of others that can attend to you. Does it mean that the hospital revolves around the nurse embarassed
You are being biased here. So I am damn well angry.
