Nobody is 100% certain that there is no God. But in my experience, things for which no objective evidence has been found despite concerted efforts to find such evidence, such as aliens living among us, and God, are unlikely to exist. So it is not rational to believe that they exist, not to mention dedicating your entire life to them.
sorry but it is rational. my entire post is saying people are not bling to believe or not to believe God. both are rational seun. but one less rational than the other.

we popping out of nothing cant be more rational than a "creator" even if there are no evidence.

like i said, atheists are only angry with the concept of god in religion, based on the "atrocities" of these religious description. but have you ever seek to find God outside religion? thats what i did. and i have nothing but faith. atheists like yourself too use faith since you also said it no one is 100% sure.

so mr seun, which is more foolish? that we popped out of nothing or a "God" is responsible(not religious God please note)

And how did these Aliens come into existence?

Deists? do deists believe atheists use faith too? do deists believe atheists are "right"... in case you missed my quote here is what sums up my experience

It is foolish to say there's a god but more foolish to say there's no god........................... i hope that conforms with the concepts of deists?

You missed your own point! Foolishness is foolishness and you cannot compare foolish with foolish. What your conclussion simply says is that Both Atheists and Theists are foolish...Placing a degree to the foolishness makes no sense.

If you believe its more foolish to say there is no God then why then do you say its also foolish to say there is a God? That to me is you confirming to a belief in a personal God which does not conform to the Theistic view and foolishness to the Atheistic view

You are denouncing organized Religion which is a good thing because Jesus never preached Religion he rather taught RELATIONSHIP but then you are now bringing an error into the mix by assuming that Christ is probably being portrayed wrongly by the Bible so would rather go with a rational observation (Philosophical) view of God........That makes you a Deist.

Deists see Atheists as extremely foolish people

Seun, hold up a bit... Let's look at this from a different perspective. You're a programmer, great.

The DNA code we all know, informs and programs a cell's behavior.

All instruction, all teaching, all training comes with intent. Someone who writes an instruction manual does so with purpose. Did you know that in every cell of our bodies there exists a very detailed instruction code, much like a miniature computer program? As you may know, a computer program is made up of ones and zeros, like this: 110010101011000. The way they are arranged tell the computer program what to do. The DNA code in each of our cells is very similar. It's made up of four chemicals that scientists abbreviate as A, T, G, and C. These are arranged in the human cell like this: CGTGTGACTCGCTCCTGAT and so on. There are three billion of these letters in every human cell!!

Well, just like you can program your phone to beep for specific reasons, DNA instructs the cell. DNA is a three-billion-lettered program telling the cell to act in a certain way. It is a full instruction manual.

Why is this so amazing? One has to ask....how did this information program wind up in each human cell? These are not just chemicals. These are chemicals that instruct, that code in a very detailed way exactly how the person's body should develop.

Natural, biological causes are completely lacking as an explanation when programmed information is involved. You cannot find instruction, precise information like this, without someone intentionally constructing it.

So, pray tell... How do you think these came about?

why both are foolish is because both claim to know the truth. faith is not fact. but both argue like they know their positions are facts. that makes both of them foolish. and yes theres nothing wrong in placing degree in foolishness. if it can be done in wisdom then why not foolishness?

my assertion on the part of religion is not absolute, if you followed this thread i never condemned any religion which is not a ddanger to its environment. my mixing things up is my own point of view. my life.

you are trying hard to put me in the box of "deists" .. is it really necessary?

I am not trying to box you. No I am actually trying to help organize your "drift". Telling Atheists that they apply faith is the view of Theists as well but Atheists disbelieve that. Theists know we use faith and we see atheists applying same but they do not buy into this.

Its your life i agree but if you could share it here then that means you are open to a discussion.

You believe in Creation, you believe in Jesus but think he is way different from how he is being portrayed. You believe in God but not as theists know him. You feel he is bigger and not interested in all we do here on earth so we are creating illussions that he is. That is your personal opinion and that to me reads Deism.

However i am not boxing you up as definitions do not make a person...Manifestations do. So tell me do you believe in the Miraculous?

i wont go into details but something happened and i got angry with my pastor neighbor(teacher living in our lodge), a fellow alfa corper and a rev sister. they did bad in a programme organized by a corper doctore for free medical. i the bad boy did correct according to principle. when we go to lodge i blasted my friend(alfa) and strolled off to a celle programme just to listen to preaching. i didnt have 1 naira with me and the next day was market day.

i prayed to God that i needed money to buy things so i can manage before alawi comes(market day is every 4 days).. while listening to the preaching i prayed in me, reminded God how awful those religious guys behaved. i prayed for just 200 naira. cos i had no choice. all corpers were broke or had last card. no one to turn to. i practically turned to a God i doubted at that time

i left the premises and immediately outside the gate i picked up 200naira. it was glorious. i had other ingredients and garri so i used it to prepare soup which lasted till alawi came. coincidence? i didnt think so, i believed and it worked for me. my God worked for me.

Lest I forget, don't answer questions I specifically directed to someone else.

You specifically asked for 200 naira and you specifically saw 200 naira on the floor and then said it worked FOR YOU! YOUR GOD worked for you.

What then made you think that God probably isnt being seen or experienced as the Bible depicts or as theists view Him? Afterall the Bible did call him as the God of all Flesh (Humanity). Plus he encourages us to come to him in time of need and that he is a very present help in such times.

So looking back at the experience who do you think you prayed to and who do you think answered a prayer as little as giving you exactly the 200 naira you asked for?

if you look at verious religion there are always sentiments. thats why we are humans. even in churches, mosques there always will be sentiments of one form or the other. the God described by the bible shows a God of anger, envy and many other traits a loving God shouldnt have. God in the old testament seemed like a man. taking sides, having a people, having favorites, getting angry etc etc. that sounds like the characteristics of a man. if i were God i wouldnt be petty to that extent of punishing a mere mortal, a victim of life puzzle and cruel nature all in a bid for what? makes no sense TO ME. this is what i feel bro. and what i feel is my own religion.
