The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has commiserated with families of the three NYSC 2016 Batch B Corps members who died at three orientation camps last week. 26 year old Oladapo Ifedolapo Racheal (Osun) with state code KN/16B/1847 died in Gwarzo General Hospital following complications arising from an ailment few days into the orientation Programme. Asuquo Monday Ukeme (Akwa Ibom) with state code ZM/16B/1780 passed at the Federal Medical Centre Gusau in Zamfara while 27 year-old Elechi Nwanenda Chinyerum (Rivers) with state code BY/16B/1300 died at the Diete-Koki Memorial Hospital Yenegoa.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung decried the death of these Corp members describing it as tragic and shocking. " We received the news of the death of the young Nigerians who were mobilized to national Service in three states for NYSC. Details of the circumstances leading to their untimely death simultaneously are not yet available to my office but the unfortunate and sad news of their demise is indeed devastating as these young people were our hope for the future.

They are national heroes who died in national service of their fatherland. "On behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria we commiserate with the bereaved families and pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss." I want to assure Nigerians that we will avail the country with the circumstances that led to their death." the Minister urged.

Idiot!! What natural cause will kill a corper? IS the natural cause as a result of ignoring a girl who was clearly in distress but the camp officials thought she was lying. Is it a natural cause if a girl lies in a hospital unattended to for hours because there are no competent staff to attend to her? Is it a natural cause for a guy to be vomitting blood!!

Scrap this rubbish called NYSC cos it has outlived it's usefulness. U guys are just making a lot of money on the back of these innocent young Nigerians . What is it that the participants gains from it apart from the miserable N19,800 monthly stipend? The ministry responsible for the program don't even know how many dies each year. All they are interested is making lots of money while some families suffer the agony of losing loved ones. Let's see if anything comes out of this investigations.
same thought as I have, NYSC doesn't worth the heartbreaking moments it has caused many families and with the careless system we have. #scrapIt

Imagine how much they pay for such stress. Do you know if you use that one year with your result to work, you will save up money to start going after your dreams? At least start somewhere; besides, who wants to work for someone these days at the expense of 95% give away of your life and lifetime.

With God my plans are different from anything contribution of government, they have nothing to offer. After NYSC what happens? job? hahahahahaha thats a dream. It doesn't guarantee any job.

My dear,waste of time.

Naija boot-licking ministers calling victims of gross negligence heroes, as if the natural choice of these poverty driven youths was to volunteer their lives for the sake of a nepotist government.

How many ministers completed their NYSC program? Again we are reminded that Nigeria is a quasi republic created to subdue dissent to Western hegemony and exploitation.

Thank God i never even considered working for Government. Let me share a secret with you. You don't have to start big. Start small. Make sure every week you are applying for at least 10 positions in different companies. The laws of probability will play itself out. At least, for every fifty application, 3 companies will call you for an interview. Don't look down on any offer that the remuneration pays for your transportation and feeding. A better offer will always come along.
