Thank you for your expository reply. I really appreciate it as it has thrown light to a gray area.
You sound like a student of U of M or someone who knows the system really well, so maybe you could help me with a lil more details...
I didn't know, before now, that UMGF won't be offered in the first year. I was banking on it to cover the tuition fees.
The entrance scholarship is worth $5000, however the tuition fee is about $10000.
I have a supervisor who is willing to work with me, but he intends applying for an increase in his research grant, hence, he would only accept me if I can get a scholarship to cover my tuition.
Now, my question is... From experience, do you think I can strive solely on these available scholarship and grant (entrance scholarship and research grant) if admitted, as I don't have any personal funds?

I am just a newly admitted student too. I got this info cos i was curious as u are now. I was given the 5400 CAD as entrance scholarship but cldnt submit the form for UMGF as it stated that i hav to be in my second year since the entrance scholarship will be for the first year (divided btw winter and fall term) as both scholarship cannot b awarded at the same time.

Both the entrance scholarship and grant wld hv been perfect for ur upkeep n tuition if ur supervisor was sponsoring, but since he is not, it might b a little difficult as der r deadlines for all payments per term.

Just one more question (I'm sorry if I sound too inquisitive)...

Were you given/paid the scholarship and grant in full or was it splitted into a monthly or termly payment?

You need not to write GRE, you will get admission into UNB and UOIT with your C.G.P.A. am sure of UNB, just that their admission letter may not come too soon but you will surely get it before may 2017.
Shalom.

Check the email account you used in applying for visa properly for directives and the required documents u need to go with. If the medicals was updated yesterday on ur CIC account, then you will surely get medical mail today.

dont be confused sis/madam you are on the right thread for support, the update must have been done by their system pending the likelihood of receiving medical mail today with the Email account you gave on your application form. so keep an eye on your mail. meanwhile but not too sure, you may scroll down down to that very page you got the above screenshot and click on the arrow^ to know if you would see 1 new message and finally click on the message to see if the medical form/directive was attached there in a PDF file. but if you do so very well and didn't see such thing, don't get nervous, rather keep us updated.

I may raise your hope that with this development, your are at the verge of getting your TRV approved after you must have done and passed your medicals..i see you are going for MBA

I'm truly sorry with what you are going through. There is nothing you can do about it until the estimated time for the processing of your application elapse, upon which you can contact CIC through web form, thereafter your application will be given priority. If the estimated time given to you when you submitted your application is yet to elapse, your message to CIC will be ignored.

Each student has an 'aurora' (as they call it) profile where u cn carry out all sch activities, part of it is the acct session where u see the fees u hv to pay per term n d deadline for such. My entrance scholarship has been credited on my page der n will b used in paying part of my winter term fee. The entrance scholarship is not given to students in hand but used to offset most of the sch fees. But, the grant u get frm ur supervisor is disbursed to u at ur supervisor's discretion. Like the pple i knw, dey r paid every fortnight after the supervisor had cleared all der sch fees n other fees. Dunno how UMGF is disbursed.

Madam... you must have seen the message now? In as much as your account is opened and your application moved online.... You should not expect any attached docs from in your email from cic again!
The account has been so modified that you can do a lot of self service activities on it.... letters (including correspondence and reasons for refusal) likewise other messages are attached and sent through your account... so look no further and check your account properly. The only thing is that it's quite difficult to locate if you have not seen had the 'inquisitive' experience.
Regards.

Actually it quite possible to convince the VO about your intended switch but this requires a high burden of proof from you to show that the career switch is indeed genuine and not random or arbitrary. It would be easier to make this case if you either have professional experience in the new field that you are switching to, or if you have informal experience (with proof) demonstrating your desire to pursue the new field. Even with all the evidence, you will also need to write an extremely passionate and convincing statement of purpose.

There are people on this forum that have done what you are trying to do. But keep in mind that it is a high risk proposition that you should undertake only if you are confident of why you are making the switch, and only if you also have evidence and compelling reasons to do so. Additionally, you would need to be able to communicate this information clearly and intelligently in your SOP to CIC.

If you don't feel confident about your ability to convince the VO of the switch, then this is also an indicator that you yourself might not even be sure of why you are making the switch to that specific course. After all, if you haven't truly explored the new field (with evidence to show the VO), how would you know if you would like it once you start classes? This is why VOs are strict with these sort of course switches.

VOs are open-minded subjective human beings, you can convince them if your reasons make sense. However the burden of proof is quite high in some cases, and this is one of them. But it is very doable. You just have to be honest with yourself as to whether your reasons for switching to the new course are credible.

Thanks bro

Spent almost 9 months in India pursuing the change of Career, did more than 13 Networking and Security training courses and got 1 professional certificate with more in mind (maybe 9 more)

That should be enough to convince the VO if adequately mentioned in the SOP, I think

Of which I am planning an MBA in IT later, and I believe communication is key to managing people in IT, Mass communication could come in handy then

Your thoughts?

Good morning house. I so glad to know there is so much to learn from this thread that may have helped me better if i knew about it. You guys are doing a wonderful job with all the support willingly offered. My study permit application was recently turned down. PGC in Human Resources (Conestoga) Winter 2017. I want to call for my notes. I would have preferred applying for a masters directly (llm), but i had 2.2. However, does any body know of any canadian university that accepts 2nd class lower and possibly the admission process? I understand a research paper has to be submitted too.... plzzzz your advice will be most appreciated.
