It is always good to keep your phone close by at all times so you don't miss a call.

As much as you can, call back any missed call(s) you see on your phone as you can never tell which was an interviewer's call.

For those always saying "I don't pick calls whose numbers I didn't save on my phone", guess what, you are doing yourself as you can never tell when a vital call will come in.

My candid advise to everyone

sometimes you will know if you call back and its not a phone that can receive calls or its a phone you will need an extension number to speak to someone...the automated machine will first mention the name of the company

Some people play superior general and I think that's laughable. How do you send a text message to a land line? If you follow whatever your mind tells you OP, you will be fine. What is yours is yours!

That was how I missed my job opportunity with StarTimes back in 2013. I was in the loo taking a dump, as I rushed out to pick my phone, the call ended.
I looked at the number, it was a land line number and I was so sure it was them because they told me they'd call to tell me when to come
Omo, I call back tire, dem no pick. I was frustrated and that was how I missed my opportunity.

Lord. I pray I won't 'miss' my call ever again

If you are sure the call you missed was from an interviewer, best you send through a text message that will state the reason you didn't picked and when you will be available for another interview, remember it shouldn't be at a distant date with that particular time frame........calling back is a NO NO!!!!!

This reminds me of an experience I had with my sis months ago. I missed a call TWICE from a 01 number and was VERY restless. Couldn't call back cos I was in BROKelyn that period. Later that afternoon, around 4pm, the number called again and I was filled with so much joy to answer it, only for me to hear my sis' voice "Ferdie where you been put phone before na?! I calmly asked "Frances?!" and she replied "ehn?" I just vex ehn!! Then told her how restless her earlier call had made me be. So bro, how often have this company called you that you're so sure the missed call was from them? It could be your uncle or friend calling you with his office line o!

1. Return the call to the number that called you immediately. If you are able to reach the HR, read no further.

2. The next most important thing to do is to call the customer service lines. The folks at the other end are obligated to resolve the issue. Customer service in recent times is basically focusing on customer experience and I am certain they will not leave you hanging.
You can either drop your profile with them or ask to be connected to the human resource department.

3. Send an email.
This is also very efficient. You may reply through the same way you applied if it was through email requesting for a call back.
Or you could send a mail to the company's HR department copying customer service.

4. Contact a referral. If you were referred. Contact the person you know ASAP.

5. As a last resort, you may have to visit the organization. This can be very useful to both you and the interviewer as s/he has an opportunity to assess you on the spot.

Kindly note that it is not wrongful to miss calls from HR. In fact its nothing. It only becomes annoying if the calls were missed severally.

However, you may also miss the chance of being interviewed at all because it is a difficult task going backward on shortlisting when you already moved on to a more prospective and reliable applicant.
