Hello experts in the house, I posted this some days back and I'm still seeking for a really strong advise on what to do as I am still really confused and disturbed about this situation. I honestly knew nothing about medical visa so please I'm opened to advice. E dakun.

the answers you seek are quite obvious. 1.Yes send the change of intent today. 2. Start searching for a Dr and hospital, get your correspondence 3. Pray well and leave the rest to God. 4. Yeah Go with enough cash/evidence of cash.

@Orestik, i can see ur dilemma, but wit d little i have learnt frm here, i think u shld consider some other things b4 u tow d line u r planning to:

Given ur due date, If u travel dis month and u r given the typical 6 months, will u have put to bed and completed baby docs b4 d date u r stamped in for expires? Wat if u say vacation and dey stamp u for a short period? Wat wil u do and hw can u explain dat u overstayed?

D ticket u bought , wen did u fix ur return for? I dey ask cos i think it is supposed to jive wit wat u will tell d CBP u r in d US for.

If I were in ur shoes, i will go for d vacation as intended, no mata hw short. Den u can make ur enquiries while u r dere, come bak and prepare for d main waka. ( dis is d more expensive alternative, bt it 'may' b safer)

D oda alternative is to bone d vacay, do ur research, send d change of intent letter, den do serious fasting and praying for God's favour and easy POE experience. ( risk plenty for dis arrangement; change of intent- may hold no water, future renewal- may b tougher etc)

Ultimately, d choice is urs.

Good evening NL family. In the spirit of giving back, this is my experience.i came into Chicago on Friday 9th of December.

My flight was meant to be on Wednesday via arik airlines at 10:30pm, unfortunately it was cancelled till 10:30am the following day and I wasn't notified. I waited till 12:00am to check in my bags cos they were a lot before going back home. I got back to MMA again around 9am on Thursday and there was a lot of commotion at the arik kiosk. Other customers from london, New York, South Africa took over the counter and refused the staff from checking us in. We waited till 4pm before the officials resumed checking the passengers bag and it took abt2hrs of our time. At 6pm, they started boarding us but not on the flight, we were kept in a cubicle where we stayed another 2hrs. During this period, they explained that they were waiting for the captain to inspect the plane, thereafter they were waiting for the cabin crew, thereafter they said the fuel wasn't sufficient and they needed abt 3tons of fuel. Finally, we were boarded into the plane where we waited another 1hr in the very hot plane, they said the fuel wasn't enough and that they needed more fuel. At that point the passengers were furious and insisted that the pilot moved the plane otherwise they will all be beaten up. Finally at 9:10pm, we started our journey to JFK. The pilot did a great job taking off and landing even to the extent that all of the passengers clapped for him, the food on board was fantastic but there was no entertainment on board but no one needed it cos we were all tired. The plane was really nice and I was wowed, even the passengers commended arid on that.
We got to JFK on Friday around 4:00am and I requested for a wheelchair but I had a toddler with me so I couldn't use it but my interview with the cbp officer was fast tracked.
I filled the self help electronic device and I was cleared even though I had a lot of African food with me. I waited for some minutes and it was my turn with a dark skinned elderly cbp officer. My interview went thus;

Me: Good morning (hands over myself and baby's passport)
Cbp: hi, why are you here? (Scans my passport)
Me: To give birth to my baby
Cbp: wow, wow, wow while looking at the computer screen
Me: I hope there is no problem cos I can hear u wowing
Cbp: not at all, how long will you stay in the USA
Me: three months
Cbp: I have just one little problem with u, u will be staying for 3months but ur visa expires in jan
Me: yes, it will. I sent a mail to the embassy and was told that I'll be fine but that my entry to the USA is dependent on ur own discretion.
Cbp: nods his head and stamps me in for 6months. No documents asked , no agriculture.
I was struggling with my begs when I was leaving and he Called me to ask what. Had in my bag and I told him my baby foodstuff and her clothes. He also asked if I had liquid stuff in my bag and I said no. He then asked me to proceed to collect my baggages and I was free to leave.
No secondary inspection,no agriculture. All in all took abt 2mins.
I took a delta flight to Chicago and I'm still trying to get used to the weather.
Abeg for mamas looking to fly before visa expires, pls be prepared ooo, and don't get to usa on the day ur visa expires cos ur flight might be delayed.

My appreciation goes to my personal persons firstymom,ladyG,Sugah,Gagat,etc....

Thank you for understanding me better. Its actually my first trip to the US and its my first baby so everything ve been seeing on here has been like jibrish to me. If i go now I wud still be able to have my baby get the documents before the 6 months elapses as I am due in March. But i ll just do the former u advised. I ll go, come bck, then travel bck. When going on the second trip do I still need to send a change of intent mail to the embassy? Thanks a lot for your response.

Documents for USA can only notorised by a USA authorized notary public.
Just walk into the consulate in Lagos from Monday to Thursday between 10 am to 2pm. All the forms you need are there free fill the one you require and it will be notorised for you.
I don't know how much it is right now with the dollar increase just go with NGN 100k you will surely come back with a lot of change.
You can also check the website and send mail to LagosNIV@state.gov for the must up to date information.

Your write-up is actually false. It can be Notorized by any public legal office. From experience about two of LO's, I did It opposite general hospital Ikeja at the rate of NGN1500 and NGN2000 respectively.

Infant BA ticket. Urgent.

Pls whats the best way to obtain cheap BA ticket for infant? What I'm getting by phone here is not funny at all. I've called many times and its even increasing. Any help or tip will be well appreciated.
Thanks.

@Justwise, I initially asked if i could use my husband's company, he is one of the directors and someone here still insisted i shouldn't try it and that was why i went further to ask what if i was just an employee?

Please clarify, now are you saying i can use my husband's company?

justwise:

That is not the same as an employer using the company's fund for child birth. Her husband or herself is the director of the company. Both of you are directors and can afford to pay for the child birth without liquidating the company's business fund

Call them repeatedly, that you want to add an infant to your ticket. Tell them you want a return flight for your infant and have your dates ready that way they will create a new booking for that ticket and u pay at once. Look for the cheapest option yourself online.

Also let the agent know you intend on coming back next year so u will add your infant to that ticket.

Thanks to everyone who takes out their time to give back to make this missionary journey a success for all of us.
I have been a silent reader and have gained alot from this platform. God bless you all.
I plan travelling to Chicago in January 2017 and is in need of a good accomodation in a good location as I intend using John H Strogger Hospital in Cook County.
I dont mind sharing accomodation if there is one.

It is always good to take time to read things
As for any lawyer not a USA notary public doing it I doubt if it will be accepted.
