Free escrow and you don't stand to gain anything at all.

ABOUT SCAMMING
Some People Really Need to be Scammed so they can appreciate Trusted People a little.

Some doesn't value the trust at all, they feel you can send money to anyone and the person will deliver...

Forgetting the spirit that follows money... If you've not control money and you saw that huge sum in your account, different feelings and thoughts will occupy your mind and it will only take the grace to fight it...

ABOUT PAID ESCROW
Mine is free and always forever will be... You only pay for Bank Transfer and SMS Charges N115... And whoever is interested should message me on Whatsapp and not sending me PM here or Quoting me.

But the problem is you don't expect me to always be available, and this is not because am offering it for free but because I have my schedules as well.

Posting again for the people that were in Cloud 9 when I initially conceive the idea.

I am in support of Paid Escrow Service(PES) if it guarantees that transactions will be Safe. Website like localbitcoins provides the escrow service for bitcoin buyers and it works amazingly. While it will be great for the veterans to get paid for this services, it should not be at a steep price of 5%. PayPal charges an average of 2.9% per transaction which is still considered high. Here's my proposal on a guideline that can be used for the Paid Escrow Service. Please feel free to critique my proposal.

PES proposed Rule 1 (Transaction Fee)
Transaction fee should be variable rate based on transaction volume. Small transactions can be charged a maximum fee of between 1% t 1.5% and it drops down based on volume. $100 transaction will be charged 1%($1) or 1.5%($1.5) and large transaction like $1000 can be charged 0.5%($5) and so on. The higher the volume, the lower the percentage charged in fee.

PES proposed Rule 2 (Two Veterans minimum per paid escrow transaction)
Paid escrow service should involve more than one veteran. Two pangolo heads grin are definitely better than one and it will also ensures that if a veteran get a deposit of $10,000 BTC and gets hit by a bus before the transaction can be completed shocked, the other veteran will be available to complete the transaction provided that they both have ACCESS to the account. So, I propose that escrow accounts should have at the very least two signatory. Bitcoin exchange like Coinbase offer vault account that requires confirmation from two emails before money can be released.

PES proposed Rule 3 (Reviews and Transactions Ratings)
A successful paid transaction through escrow should be reported on the thread and both people involved in the exchange should be be given a review and rated by the veterans.
Rating ranges between 0 and 5; rating should be based on ease of transaction and cooperation of the members with the Veterans. Veterans should calculate an average of the score i.e Veteran A rating and Veteran B rating added and divided by 2. Scammers will be rated 0 and successful, quick, smooth transaction will be rated 5. Members behaviour like being slow to transfer fund(bank problems taking into consideration), time wasting, too much irrelevant questions, backing out of agreed rate(you know them) grin, suspicious behaviour etc will be taking into consideration during the rating process. I have done several transactions with some people through escrow here but very few have reviewed me even though I specifically asked and even offered them a great rate because I value the review since I'm new on the forum.

Proposed PES Rule 4(Authorized PES Admin Officers)
Veterans looking to earn money through paid escrow should be willing to verify their real Identity, Bank Information and facebook/LinkdeIn account etc.
Admin Officer public profiles(Facebook, Whatsapp, LinkedIn) must contain their real picture that must be displayed at all time. Lots of you guys never show ya real face; I guarantee none of ya'll wowo reach me and I still dey show my face on Whatsapp undecided.
Eligibility: Veteran that apply to be Admin officer must will be well known members that have been on NL for several years(3 years minimum?) and have successfully verifiable transaction(50 transactions?) on this Platform.
When two members request for Escrow services, the Admin Officers will log the transaction on a public spreadsheet (google docs?) that can be viewed by all Admin Members and the two members involved in the transaction. Other forum members can be granted Read Only Access as well. Only the Admin Officers can have access to Edit the spreadsheet. The columns will include the following information and will be filled as the transaction progresses: the column will Member A, Member B, Admin Officer 1, Admin Officer 2, Type of Transaction(BTC to Naira, Skrill to PayPal etc.), Crypto-Currency Deposited, Money deposited etc.

Note: NL can create a section for Escrow and pay the veterans a portion of the fee to manage it.

If you guys agree with some of these ideas We can work on more elaborate guidelines and also draw up a list of documents and design them to track the transactions.

On this escrow discussion, I believe the lists should be strictly limited to those who have been doing that FREELY on this thread before. People like Bookiemart01, tabbaz, ladyF, Singapore, aleair and few others should be given the mandate to do it charge 1% for their time and the risks involved.

So times it hurts when people get scammed and I wonder why these victims can't do a simple due diligence...ask simple questions and do a simple background search.

This is why a paid escrow service is very necessary. It is not about the fees to be charged but the extra measures to protect your investment.

Well, I think the escrow service is a welcome development to safeguard the individual's hard-earned money. I however, think that we are making a fundamental mistake. That mistake is a replica of what we are making in Nigeria- relying on individual integrity to change our future for better rather than putting in place a strong structure/institution (with legal backing). I hate to say this. This market that begins as a child's play will grow into something gigantic in the future. This is going to make some people overly too powerful thereby creating another Monster known as the "CABAL". For instance, I still have some reservations about some highly trusted and very active members of this platform being touted as Escrow. A good example of a situation in which power might be misused is sudden removal of my moniker from the trusted members/exchanger without any reason. This occurred after I cautioned on accusing people of being a SCAM without concrete evidence. I have been on Nairaland since 2009 and have dealt with many people without a single blemish. That my name was removed is not the contentious issue here but relying on "INTEGRITY" of online members of a faceless forum rather than instituting a reliable and verifiable structure is only postponing the evil day. Imagine this market grows into handling multi-millions or even billions. Anybody that intends to do business (PAID ESCROW) should not be discrete about his/her identity under any guise. In fact, their name, address, background should be documented and known to members. We may not have the capacity to put up a formidable institution now but if anyone wants to do PAID ESCROW business under the name of the Nairaland community, then do the business like business.

Why can't a site be created dedicated to escrow services alone, which can be affiliates of this forum, and also render services to the public too.

With that, the services rendered will be strictly professional, and not so Padi Padi business.

If its a registered body, the people will feel more relax, than allow one individual on a faceless forum hold their money.

Just my thought.

I think Blink started this kind of initiative last year or so before he left Nairaland. I have not seen his comment here for more than a year now.

Unfortunately if care isn't taken this is where the whole Thing will eventually lead to,ppl will start calling their friends to escrow for them if escrow services are high. Anyone willing or wishing to escrow must not have profit or financial benefit as the reason for doing so.

I see nothing wrong in profiting from honesty and integrity. Scammers go chop in one day what these guys will make from escrow in a whole year.
