ABSOLUTE GARBAGE SIGNIFYING THE GROSS IGNORANCE AND MENTAL SLAVERY OF NIGERIANS TO THEIR FORMER COLONIZERS. EVEN A CURSORY STUDY OF NIGERIAN HISTORY SHOULD TELL YOU THAT THE FIRST STOREY BUILDINGS IN NIGERIA WERE BUILT HUNDREDS OF YEARS BEFORE THE ARRIVAL OF ANY WHITE MAN. THE CITY OF KANO HAD LITERALLY HUNDREDS, AND POSSIBLY THOUSANDS OF STOREY BUILDINGS LONG BEFORE 1845 OR WHATEVER INSULTING DATE THE OP SUGGESTED FOR OUR 'FIRST STOREY BUILDING', BUT IGNORANCE AND STUPIDITY WILL NOT LET NIGERIANS STUDY THEIR OWN HISTORY. NO WONDER YOU ARE THE SKIN BLEACHING CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. WORTHLESS. SELF LOATHING PEOPLE WITH ZERO COMMON SENSE.

To me, History still remain one of the relevant discipline in our educational curriculum. Abolish it and you abolish a nations heritage!

GOD FORBID THAT WE DISPLAY OUR IGNORANCE AND DUMBNESS BEFORE THE WHOLE WORLD BY PRODUCING A FILM CLAIMING OUR FIRST STOREY BUILDING WAS BUILT BY WHITES IN 1845. THAT DAY YOU WILL KNOW THEY ARE BLACK SCHOLARS AS FAR AWAY AS THE USA, BRAZIL, AND THE CARRIBEAN WHO KNOW YOUR HISTORY FAR BETTER THAN YOU DO, AND WILL GLADLY EDUCATE YOU BEFORE THE WORLD. SHAMELESS, IGNORANT PEOPLE.

WHAT'S NEXT? A FILM CLAIMING YOU WERE RUNNING AROUND NAK.ED UNTIL WHITES BROUGHT YOU CLOTHES? SHAMELESS PEOPLE!!

Look, even ancient Igbo villages had two-storey sentry points as they looked out for invaders. Ancient Benin City, which the British burned and looted, was a magnificent place with numerous storey buildings and monuments. It was one of the few cities in the world with a street lighting system, with oil-fuelled lamps lining street poles. The Oba's palace was world class, and drew admiration from some of the world's greatest travellers. Benin sent official ambassadors to Portugal and Spain. The city was protected by a vast moat constructed on the orders of Oba Ewuare in the 1400s, a construction that remains one of the largest man made structures on earth. As far back as the 1400s, European visitors were comparing Benin City to major European capitals like Amsterdam and Lisbon. I mean, our people seriously need to rediscover their past.

Good write up... But that's not Nigeria's first storey building. We need to re-write our history. Else others will define us and never give us our deserved respect.
