Brother I know someone that applied online without submitting a police clearance and the person is in Canada now.

The things to be submitted are listed in the online application and police clearance isn't there.
OK listen... Both documents form parts of requirements that makes a complete application!!..

Cic states clearly that you should submit a police clearance certificate for countries you have stayed for over 6 months in the recent past.
It is also required that you submit birth certificates of your spouse and children... "Even if they are not applying with you"

Notes: however..... i have not heard of anyone that was rejected for not submitting birth or police certificates

Your application may only take much more time than necessary if you submit an incomplete application!
So... take your chances but it's always better to fulfill necessary requirements.

For any person that is an applicant... Your strongest ties to your home country remains; your immediate family (spouse and children), immediate-extended (aged parents) and present employment.

Your landed fixed properties, siblings and verifiable investment are secondary ties.

Just to report that i landed safely 4am Canada time. I want to share my POE experience. I landed at Toronto, passed tru security /custom checks, filled an assert declaration form right frm the plane to declare my assert n show that i dnt hv up to 10,000 CAD. I was directed to the border services to obtain my study permit ( it was a really long queue) and i had a flight by 10:50 pm to winnipeg.

Luckily for me, we were directed to a more shorter line. An indian girl's passport & doc were seized, gosh, that got me scared. When it was my turn i wasn't asked any question as to why i came to Canada n wia i am coming frm.

Documents:
1. Admission letter
2. Receipt of sch fees payment ( i told her i was on scholarship to showed her my scholarship letter.
3. correspondence letter from CIC.
4. international passport

She asked for an address i will b b staying temporarily. I cldnt reach my frd, i explained to her n she told me she cnt issue my SIN (social insurance number) till i hav my own accommodation and not to waste my time further cos of my flight, she asked me to sit n in less than 3 mins she called ne back n issued my study permit. She told me i cn wrk wen i hv my SIN wc i cn get here in winnipeg.

Canada is really beautiful n frdly & i wish all TRV hopefuls the very best. And as for the cold, i was able to cope, LOL.

Your home tie is directly related to you. Like family and assests. But assests must be in your name alone if they will serve as home tie.

So I can't use my dad's property that I'll inherit, is that what you're saying?

Na only you your Papa born? How do you know you will be the one to inherit it?
If you say this before a Yoruba father, he will just assume you want to kill him.

Bro, pray and focus on your profile. Forget your father properties or perhaps let him transfer the ownership to you now, if you want to use it as home tie.

God bless you, you will say this, claiming property, in front of someone like my father or my siblings. Dem no even born your liver to. For now, it is not yours! tongue

No issues... we're all learning!
What I am saying is that; your aged parents are much more useful as home ties than any assets that either belongs to you or anyone else!
I have listed factors that are primary ties to you earlier.

Hun hun... Yaff vex!!!... grin
Funny to know that assets are not primary ties... a whole lot of people sell of properties even before they leave talk more of wanting to come back cos of one land like that in a village at Ijebu ode!!!
Bros... Your papa and mama are your strongest ties...ok! And if you are gainfully employed it adds up.... Not the land ooo.

Those documents will only strengthen the ability of your dad to be a genuine sponsor.... If he is your sponsor though!
The documents aren't yours and linking it may be difficult. ... except of course you want to do a transfer.

Just got refused on insufficient fund to pay for tuition and purpose of visit.

Sorry for the refusal, quite sad, more so, considering the effort you put into that application and the lots of document you took time to add to it. I pray the next one will end in praise.

Your application was very detailed but may be just a little bit too detailed because it might have allowed the VO to miss some important points in the application. In your next application let your SOP be very concise and address the issue of while studying rural development is very essential to your career progression or future aspiration.

On the fund issue, it is always difficult to prove available fund when the sponsor is a third party, why would a sponsor commit such huge amount for the education of a cousin not a sibling or child especially when the cost is going to eat greatly into the sponsor available fund. It is a hard sell and that is what you will have to convince the VO about. You can follow the advice some have given here to have the sponsor deposit substantial amount of money that can cover 1 year expenses into your account, in fact countries like the UK requires that the money be in the applicant account for up to 30 days and this might just help prove the issue of available fund

Finally, pray about it and I believe myself and many other are with you in prayer.

Please take heart and reapply, I can't wait to hear your testimony

Yes indeed the documents aren't mine, but me and my siblings are bound to inherit it in the future, so can't I still use it for application purpose? I've seen write ups online encouraging using family Property as means to proving home ties. Am painstakingly repeating this question because am kinda running out of options. Am employed but couldn't obtain study leave from work (not in this volatile situation in nigeria where anything irrespective of how trivial they maybe can be used as grounds for dismissal) that is why am hell bent on this property ish. Yes I'll make use of my aged parents situation as you suggested but I feel I need more to really show strong ties to my home country.

Regards and pls help me torchlight this matter abeg. Shalom

Gurus in the house, please I need your input on this. I want to apply for my study permit online but the checklist question I getting me confused, see below:

1. They asked if am an exchange student?
2. When I clicked on the information on top I saw you must provide a letter of curriculum from from your educational institution stating that work is a necessary requirement for the completion of studies?? What are they saying here?? Guys kindly assist... Thanks

Guy all these "bound to inherit" talks na future tense, nothing concern V.O say you wan inherit something... Is it yours now? Yes or No
As simple as that.
But still add those properties just to increase no. of documents but know deep within yourself that those aren't yours according to the V.O
The V.O's father too has properties and they aren't his

The max you can do is to have your dad say something in his letter like those properties are just being maintained for you till you are through with your studies and you come back to settle here.
