Even though Nigerian higher institutions aren't okay but Unilorin is worse. Everything about them is like fraud, from admission to students welfare. I could remember what my Sister went through in 2004 before she could get admission just because she isn't from Kwara state. My friend in 2009 beat their cut - off mark he wasn't given admission. I never knew the spirit that came inside that I insisted I won't pick Unilorin despite having someone there as a top lecturer. I can't even advice my enemy to pick the school.

In the early hours of yesterday we were greeted with the news that The department of Criminology in unilorin has been scrapped and the students of the department were left "hanging"

It is a well known fact that Unilorin is a glorified secondary school and the students can't protest otherwise.. *coughs*

Unilorin students took to twitter to complain about the series of profane events going on in the school
1)We queue in the morning for hours to get busses
..even after lectures.. The queues are always very long and we get incessant harassment from the "Power intoxicated Cadets"

2)We paid for a Tab for over 1year the tab has not been released...yet the school didn't deem it fit to release an official explanation to explain the reason behind the delay

3)Our permanent ID card is yet to be released to us as at this time yet no explanation from the school

4)A whole department was scrapped too and they were told they'll be moved to sociology or other departments

5)Students were mandated to pay a compulsory 5,000 for bandwidth even before you can pay your school fee... yet it's mid semester no bandwidth yet... the available one are as slow as anything you can think of

6)The school portal keeps getting hacked into freely and students can't even access their portal

Some of my mates who went back for masters regretted their action... masters students worst... they run after lecturer and lots of poo... just a year course outside naija and I felt like burning the whole unilorin... haba education sweet but no be for naija...

Come to think of this; if u r not a Muslim, an indigenous one for that matter, n u made any funny but small mistake in that Unilorin, u go sharperly face TANKE (get expelled). No room for warning or second chance. That school is a glorified-islamic-university in federal skin, where student can't demand for their rights. Treating students like kindergarten pupils. Most especially their Law faculty, an extension of Islamic settings.

There was a time, not too long ago when other schools spent about 4 years in and out of ASUU strikes because of UNILORIN, during which period Unilorin was in session and never embarked on strike. People didn't know that the school was a glorified secondary school while they were churning out graduates and other students were at home.
Unilorin students please focus on your primary purpose in school- academics, you don't understand the sacrifices others have made for you to enjoy it.

I ignored that school when I discovered that one of the lecturer was a 2.2 holder.

Unilorin is a very very biased school.

The management is very very selfish, greedy, dumb and hypocritical.

They don't consider candidates from other states at all. Even to the extent that candidates FROM KWARA STATE BUT NOT "ILORIN" are not usually considered for admission.
Not just for students, even in staff employment.
Very very useless people.
There will never be progress and unity if the nonsense continues.

I totally agree with all u said regarding d school (though u sound really bitter about it) cos it was d first thing I noticed during my PG prog there. The scale of NEPOTISM there is immeasurable. In d area of staff recruitment is worse. Really REALLY pathetic school with very narrow minded people all over d place.

Now I understand. Truth is good schools dont even take first degree holders as grad assistants anymore (except first class in some cases).

i remember while i was in nysc camp NSB15 and we rallied against the treatment of the zombies on us. Unilorin student no join o, them say no be wetin school teach them. The school increases fees anytime anyhow, if sug no go fight for una, fight for your sef.
