Check all the major American TV stations, they all celebrate Christmas but the emphasis is not on Jesus. Even in Nigeria, many people go to a bar and enjoy themselves, they don't do anything remotely Christian during Christmas... It's a holiday, it's the end of the year...

why do atheists always ask for proof..but why didn't they ask for proof Christmas is been celebrated?

First of all jesus' wasn't born on December
Secondly the customs that Christians use to celebrate Christmas (and Easter) have been altered to attract non-Christians to the religion. Many pagan rituals were incorporated into Christmas festivities as a way to appease ancient converts who were reluctant to discard their old traditions,Festivals like the winter solstice,yul and Sol Invictus
If you actually believe the Christmas tree is a christian creation I advise you to go and read on your religion
I don't celebrate Christmas. I don't go to church. But i have christian friends i go to chill with for lunch or go out

What Christmas means to us is exactly what it means to you, minus the religious part. It's the time at the end of the year when we get to stay home or travel to spend time with our families and lovers. We give and receive gifts. We watch Christmas movies. We eat chicken. We shop for clothes and gadgets. Kids visit father Xmas and detonate bangers. These things aren't religious. Only the name "Christmas" sounds religious. Most atheists are not bothered by that. Besides, the practice of having celebrations near the end of the year predates Christmas.

See anyone can celebrate Christmas but christmas is related to being christian. The day was set aside for christians to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
The reason why you see a lot of white people who do not go to church celebrate Christmas is because it has become a cultural/traditional thing to them because European countries from the start was based on the foundation of Christianity.
