Out of favour Super Eagles of Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel won’t be joining any team in Europe when he leaves Chelsea in January, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.


Mikel has been linked to a host of European clubs including top sides like Valencia, Marseille, Inter-Milan, AC Milan and even Turkish giants Besiktas and Galatasary, but the 29 year old won’t be joining any of the aforementioned clubs.


Chelsea will most likely be his last club in Europe for now if reports gathered from a reliable close source to the former Lyn Oslo man is anything to go by.


”I can proudly tell you that he is not in talks with any team in Europe, forget about what you read or hear. About 10 team based in Europe have all made inquiries, but Mikel is going to the Middle East or China.


”He is in talks with Shanghai SIPG and Al-Ain of the UAE, they are the two clubs close to meeting his wage demands. No European team can pay him what he is demanding at the moment”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.


”The picture will become clear in the coming days, but I know for a fact that if Al-Ain or Shanghai SIPG can raise their offer to around £200,000 a week, £30,000 more than what they offered him initially. The deal will be as good as done”.

Imoh is not in China he is in Qatar. I put China a level above the MLS becos the quality of their designated players is not up 4 debate. All the talk about China being a retirement league is bad belle coming from England who can't believe a player would elect to go somewhere else instead of the Epl. You are not too different from most typical Nigerians who always love to associate every negative thing with Nigeria.

This age falsification issue as it concerns Nigeria is blown out of proportion. My younger brother was this year Disqualified from participating in the Shell Cup, under the guise that he is above 17 years of age. This is a boy who just clicked 17 mid November, 2016.

He looks huge, tall and has grown beards too.
He was just 16yrs and some months as of the time the shell Cup started.


If Obafemi Martins was older than his actual age when he started playing, I doubt he did still be kicking the ball.

The clubs are owned by some big companies, China is on top of the food chain right now. €650 is for Tevez if he signs, Oscar is around that kind €500. I am certain they will pay their players. China has been a money grabbing spot for years, NBA players also go there and make alot of money.

The Cycle repeats itself again. The Greed of those around Mikel and maybe Mikel robbed the World of the chance of watching one of football's greatest artist paint masterpieces on the pitch. The love of Money over Football made Mikel not play his Natural role in a team that suited his abilities.

Now the cycle is repeating and the same issue seems to take away his opportunity of showing the footballing World what he can do. Money rules when it concerns Mikel. Not the art of football.

His wife was a footballer who tried out with the then falconets under coach Felix Ibeukwu.
