For The Men in the house: If you want to give your child a surname, whose name will you give to your child? Yours? Your dad's? Your grandfather's? Your great-grandfather's? Etc. Which is appropriate and why? I really need answers. Think am well before answering biko.

Oh yeah, my hubby has a surname, but his own na great great -grandfather's name im dey answer. His papa doesn't even know the owner of the surname sef.

That will be kinda complicated especially when traveling overseas with your kids with different surnames....They might start asking some silly questions..

To avoid complications, it is always wise to give your kids whatever surname you are bearing...

as a lady i'll love my kids to bear my husband's name
like if his name is bisoye and his grandfather's or father's name is fagunle
abeg na that bisoye my pikin go bear ooo
why? cos as those fore fathers nor allow their name fade
i nor go want make my hubby name fade tongue

Someone told me same thing. But the birth certificate does bear the names of the parents, so in my opinion there shouldn't be any complications at all.

I guess you have no idea how some people work in their various offices especially in public offices just to frustrate others dear...But if you are certain that there's no issues, I say Amen to that.... but I know how certain things that shouldn't be an issue became a big one...causing you to start making phone calls here and there, running around their office as if you were working with them just to iron out the issues...to avoid that kinda frustration, it is always cool to do the normal thing....

All of the above, different surnames for each child of mine depending on my mood at the time of their birth.

Honestly, I don't care. They answer whatever surname I meet,no need for unnecessary twists and turns.

well my father's name and if I can, I will insist my offsprings bear the name to the 10th generation
