Continuation....

I felt like my world was turning apart. It was like a dream. Is this how hell fire is? I tot. This place was far worse. I felt like vomiting. The stench of the cell, made my belly hurt. I won't wish this place for my worst enemy.

Me: Thompson see wetin you cause. (tears were beginning to take form in my eyes)

Thompson: Temy you be fish. You wan cry?

Me: if I punch you, na hell fire you go see yourself. Why I no go cry when I no get money to bail myself. Na that last 5k dey my account.

Destiny: Una still dey argue, lets talk about the way forward.

Destiny head had swollen, his eyes had turn red, like someone who had smoked 5 wraps of weed. I could tell, he was feeling miserable. Although this wasn't the first time he had been to a cell, I could tell he was a regular customer there as a result of the fact that, he was always caught smoking weed or in possession of weed. Destiny just had bad luck. I felt like he needs deliverance.

Me: so, what's the way forward?

Thompson: I have a plan, make I call my uncle. The bros, na professor for accounting department. But the issue is I have not called him ever since I got admission into AAU.

Destiny: abeg, do am sharp sharp time don dey go.

Thompson negotiated with the police officer, requesting for his phone, so that he could call his uncle. They obliged. In fact, they felt happy because they thought they will surely extort us. Thompson left for the police canter while we stayed in the cell. The other inmates were busy playing ''whot'', some were sleeping, some were just lost in thought thinking of their grievous offences and what life holds for them. As for me, I was busy dealing with the mosquitos who were trying to suck my blood.

Not too long, Thompson came back to the cell with a smile on his face.

Thompson: I just called my uncle, I told him what happened.

Me: wetin him come talk?

Thompson: He talk say, he go follow the DPO reason.

Me: make him bail us o. I no fit sleep for here o. I can't even tell my Dad, the man go crucify me.

Thompson: chicken. Fear fear.

Me: you don dey find my trouble since. I go play you o.

Destiny: Temy, relax.

After about an hour. Thompson uncle came in to the police station. I could hear his voice from the background. He was talking loudly, speaking gigantic grammar. He was really furious. Not too long, we were released from the prison. His uncle tongue lashed us seriously. I felt really happy to gain my freedom back.

This was a day I will never forget. I just hope someone out there learnt from my mistakes. And Bail is not free. Once you enter into the police cell, you must pay to get out (most especially ekpoma and Benin cell), ours was different. Probably because of the top connections the professor had.

The semester was almost over. Lecturers had stopped teaching, There was intense and rigorous ''Jacking'' as students filled the halls ,day and night reading for the first semester examination. Prayer warriors weren't left out, while reading one could hear their loud voices. They spoke in unknown tongues. Some repeatedly saying

''Baba, This first semester exam I must pass, any evil fashioned against me shall not prosper''

''Jehovah, you raise the dead, please come and raise my scores''

''O God, sit beside me and write my exams for me''

''Fire, Fire Fire Fire, Holy Ghost Fire''... All these was followed with unknown tongues.

I just couldn't focus with all these distractions. (It's good to pray but disturbing your neighbours is just uncalled for). The course I was studying wasn't just penetrating into my brain. I therefore decided to go home.

On getting home, I went straight to my bed. I checked the time, it was about 5:30pm in the evening, I decided to read for 2hrs before eating and going to sleep. I turned on my home theater, and I inserted Burna boy's album ''LIFE'', putting ''Like to party'' on repeat. I had cultivated the habit of reading and listening to music.

I was concentrating intensely on my book, when I heard a big bang on my door.

Me: Who be that?

Emafidon: Na me Emafidon. Open.

Me: wetin you dey find, why you dey bang my door like that na? (I opened the door, looking furious)

Emafidon: see guy, I don tell everybody for this lodge, I dey find my air max, whoever took it should use his or her hand to bring it back.

Me: Guy, so is that why you have to hit my door anyhow?

Emafidon: Temisan, No vex me o. Right now my eyes dey red, I fit spoil things.

Me: come inside my room.

He entered, I showed him all my shoes. Ranging from Air Jordan, Air Max, mocasin DocSide, Nike and Timberland. He was astonished.

Me: you don see my shoes abi. So, if you dey reason me, just comot mind. Shoes no be my problem.

Emafidon: I don go tell Govo about the matter.

''Govo'', is a title giving to the leader of the lodge or hostel. He is actually meant to take care of the hostel unbehalf of the real owner of the house.

Me: okay, you don tell Govo abi ( I continued), wetin him con talk?

Emafidon: Govo said that, he will organise a meeting calling all the tenants of the lodge.

Me: don't worry you go see your shoe*

emafidon had just ruined my evening reading, I was suppose to have a paper the next two days later. My junior brother TY eventually came in with his friends. I give them detailed description of the scenario that had occurred not quiet long, and what might unfold that evening.

The 10 tenants were all assembled outside due to the instructions of the Govo. It was about 10:00pm in the evening. The Govo addressed the issue of theft in the hostel and need for this act to stop.

Govo: I'm really disappointed, who ever took that shoes,....... wetin be the name of the shoe again?

Emafidon: na Air Max.

Me: 2k air max (I whispered to my bro, He smiled)

Govo: who ever took that Air Max (He continued) should bring it out, else something terrible will happen. We will all swear.

Tenant1: Make we swear sharp sharp, I get exam tomorrow.

Emafidon: Sharrap, Govo dey talk

Tenant1: are you okay?

Emafidon: you don dey craze.

Govo: if you guys want to continue like this, its best, I go into my room and sleep. I also have exam next tomorrow.

Emafidon: I just want make my shoe fall out.

Me: Guy relax. Your shoe go show*

Govo: I give that person the grace of today, else something bad will happen.

Merry Christmas
Re: My Life On Campus (A True Life Story). by YungTemy(m): 6:39am On Dec 26, 2016
The next day, I received a broadcast message on our departmental group chat on whatsapp to come for a brief revision by one of the Lecturers. Attendance was made compulsory.

I wasn't happy with this new innovation, due to the the fact that we were to have exam the next day. One had no time to concentrate fully on his examination.

I took my bathe and prepared for school. My Sony Headphone was comfortably placed on my ears while I jammed to Ushers- ''Let it Burn''. I got to the school gate, The school walk path was filled with students walking as fast as possible to their various examination centers. Unlike these people I took my time, I was dead broke, I had nothing in my pocket, I therefore began my Israelite journey to Large Hall2.

On getting to the hall, I saw my course mates staying outside, waiting patiently for our lecturers to come. I looked around but I couldn't find my friends, well except for my ''beautiful Caro'', my cockroach in my cupboard, the only girl that could make the sun sweat with just a single glance at her beautiful face. She was looking so cute. She was truly an ''Angel'' as her name had depicted.

Me: Hey, Babe

Angel: hello Temy, so you heard the news too. I don't know what is happening to this lecturer sef, he told us to come, now I've been here for an hour now.

Me: sorry. I arrived not quiet long. I just want to be done with class and go back home to read. I still have about 2 chapters to cover.

Angel: Mm, you don go far o

me: I wish.

Angel: I have not even read anything. My head right now is blank. Temy I'm going to sit beside you o.

Me: No problem, as long as you don't copy me, word for word.

There was an awkward moment of silence for about 3mins. I had to say something in other to keep the conversation going. Although I wasn't all that comfortable.

Me: so how was ur night?

Angel: My night was okay, and you?

Me: I couldn't even sleep. The weather was way to hurt.

Angel: yeah, I've observed. Sorry o

Me: No problem. I can still recall scenes from your birthday, it just suits my soul any time I think about it.

Angel: I have no clue what you are talking about.

Me: ok o. I've really missed you though.

She looked at me, and smiled but said nothing.

Me: why are you quiet, have I said anything wrong.

Angel: Temy, I have a boyfriend. A very serious one, and I love him so much with all my heart.

I felt invisible tears running down my cheek, Angel, had just broken my heart. I actually thought we had something. But the feelings was one sided.

Me: can you excuse me please. I'd like to see one the lecturers, he has been disturbing me, to come see him, he says its important. (I lied the worst lie ever)

Angel: Okay. No problem. We will chat later.

Is this a dream? I tot to myself. I better get home and just relax my head. I've got a paper around 3pm tomorrow.

I never knew, there was a BIGGER trouble lurking ahead.

Today is the worst day of life' I said to myself 'the girl I'm in love with has fallen for someone else already, that guy is truly lucky. But why didn't she tell me all along, I feel like a fool'. My young naive mind kept pondering.

I was awoken back to life by Marvis who forcefully entered my self contain room without knocking.

Me: Marvo, how you dey?

Marv: guy no dey ask me that question, wetin you cook, I'm So hunger right now. We have exam tomorrow I hope you're prepared. (He jumped on my bed and switched on my laptop)

Me: mtsheww. How I go prepare when you dey disturb me.

Marv: temy, nothing dey my head. Na expo I wan carry enter hall o.

We all know what ''expo'' is, ryt? Okay, grin expo can be defined as ''Shukuli'', it's a small paper, or probably a big paper depending on the person carrying it, where valid informations are being writing. They are usually used during Large conferences, debates, speech and most especially Examination halls. It is like a reminder.

Me: take am easy make them no catch you o

Marv: Expo na my thing, I don dey do am tey tey since primary school.

Me: if you say so, let me organise, spaghetti for you.

Marv: you bam. You too much.

I went into the kitchen, brought out sardine and spaghetti. And I began cooking. Thoughts be clouded my mind. I was really not in a good mood. I just had to talk to someone and Marv the playboy was the right guy to discuss such matters with. After putting the food on the small cylinder gas, I went straight to my room where marvis was busy playing Need for speed, most wanted.

Me: Marv, you know that Angel babe na?

Marv: Yes, I remember her. (not looking at my direction but toward the PC screen)

Me: we spoke today...

Marv: she don finally gree for you (feeling amused)

Me: make I land first. She say she get boyfriend.

Marv: o boy! Bad market.(he paused the game) Hope you haven't fallen in love with her?

Me: marv. Right now, I'm so not myself. I've got feelings for her.

Marv: eyah! Doh.

''Doh'' is a Benin and Delta way of saying ''sorry''

Marv: don't worry I go find you better babe. No be this school we dey. You go follow us go supreme hotel on Saturday?

Me: you know say exam dey na. And I don't go to that kind of place.

Marv: me, Thompson, Mayson and some of my guys wan go lit that place up. Babes everywhere. You know how e dey be.

Me: holl up, lemme check whats on fire.

After about 30 mins, the food was ready. I had no appetite to eat, so I dished Marvis food out and served him, I could tell he was very hungry, with the way he consumed the spaghetti in less than 3 minutes.

Me: bros you fast o.

Marv: afa give me more. I still dey H.

Marvis stayed with me through out the afternoon till evening. My little brother came in, greeted us and went straight to the kitchen to finish whats left of the spaghetti.

Not too long, about 6:30pm in the evening. Marvis dropped the PC game pad and told me to escort him.

While walking through the hostel passage, I heard loud noises outside. ''na who be that'' I tot to myself. I had to go inquire due to the fact that we were the only boys at that very moment in the lodge. Others had go to school to read.

I came out to see a large crowd of people standing outside my lodge, they were all looking fearless, vexed and ready for attack. They had no weapons on them, but with the large chanting of justice and freedom, I could tell a few of them had weapons. These guys were well over 30 in number amongst them was ''Emafidon'' my neighbour.

I went straight to him, my heart was beating fast. ''has it come to this'' I tot ''why will emafidon, invite guys of a confranity to come judge an issue concerning our hostel''. The noise was getting louder, neighbours around came to watch the events that was about to unfold.

Me: emafidon, which kind of rubbish is this?

Emafidon: relax, we don see the shoe, we dey find who take am.

Me: you've seen it, yet you still invited strong men to our hostel abi?

I was so furious. Marvis, kept telling me to relax. He told me that they were vikings, a dreaded confranity group, he could also see amongst them Aye (Freedom Fighters) . My heart skipped twice.

I didn't feel for myself, but I felt for my brother who was just 18. He was too young to experience this kind of trauma.
