Four days after the arrest of a wanted Boko Haram member in Ikorodu area of Lagos, another suspect from a different group has been arrested in the same community for planning to bomb the Third Mainland Bridge in the state.
Police authorities in Abuja have identified the suspect caught with dynamites as Abiodun Amos, also known as Senti.


Amos was described as an Ijaw native of Arogbo, from Ese-Odo Local Government of Ondo State and a leading member of a Niger Delta Militant group, operating from the creeks of Ikorodu and Arepo areas of Lagos and Ogun states.
He was arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), who allegedly trailed him to a river bank at the Majidun area of Ikorodu, in Lagos.
According to the police, two Ak47 rifles, hidden in a big bag, was found in the suspect’s possession. He later led detectives to a vehicle parked somewhere in Ikorodu, from where dynamites and detonators were recovered from the boot.
Amos arrest was hastened by intelligence report from the office of the National Security Adviser to the President (NSA) which was passed on to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris, indicating that the group was at his final stage of carrying out an attack on the Third Mainland Bridge.
The leader of the militant group, known as General Ossy Ibori, was suspected to have coordinated most of the bank robberies and several high profile kidnappings, including that of three school girls, at Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School in Ikorodu, four landlords at Isheri North Area of Lagos; Oniba of Ibaland, Oba Goriola Oseni among others, within Lagos and Ogun states.

I am surprised how so many commentors aren't taking this thread seriously. A good many of us, our family members, friends have reason to drive through TMB almost on a daily basis. And let's face it, that bridge is porous as hell - stretching for as long as it is with pillars embedded inside it's waters that can be reached by anyone on a boat in d middle of the night. All it takes is a plastic explosive stuck on a pillar, wait a awhile for early morning rush hour traffic and boom! It shouldn't stop at arresting the man, he should be made to spit out as much Intel as he possibly can.

There is a very big difference, the motive of the action, if someone claims it is his religion that told him to do it or he is doing it for his religion, I am yet to see a Muslim terrorist who claims he/she isn't doing because of his religion, this is one thing Christians don't ever claim, because if a Christian is caught in a bad act, he knows it is bad and can never claim Jesus sent him to do it,

Muslims justifies their actions with religion, I don't know if they are ever taught to respect the laws of any land they live in, Christians are taught to respect the laws of any land they live....

A terrorist that wants to blow up a structure like this will bring the bomb activate and detonate within 10mins or he will be spotted.

Now, its true that Dynamites are used to blast rocks or concretes, but do you consider the time the detonators will spend in placing, connecting, and wiring the bombs or dynamites?

Now on busy bridge like this, terrorists will have to go under the bridge with the dynamite, placing the bombs, connecting and wiring them to almost 4 - 5 pillars before detonating them.

To do this, they will spend hours and how is that possible without being spotted?

There is this channel where they air how they demolish buildings with explosives, they spend days setting the dynamites and dynamites brought in truck not in sedan.

They did one in Lagos years back.
