I spent the holidays at big brother's house. I noticed an uneasy calm from the moment I set foot in the house. I wanted to ask bro what was wrong but I decided to mind my biz. They were not talking even into the new year. On Monday I heard yells and shouts so I came out to find out what was going on.

Apparently, his wife is angry because he sends 60k monthly to our kid bro in school, and 30k monthly to her own brother. She wants him to send 60k to both of them or reduce our bro's share to 45k and also send 45k to her bro. In anger, my big bro said he is not responsible for her brother, that he is just helping out. She called him biased and stingy and shiit. Me I kept my mouth shut because anything I say would be interpreted wrongly by her.

To me I think its wrong to compare your husband's brothers to yours. I pray my wife doesn't do that cuz I will stop helping altogether.

Generally, when a married man donate to others outside his immediate family( wife and children), whatever they get from him is a privilege and not a benefit or right/ entitlement.

she is right and wrong if you look at it from both sides
1. he is sending money to his brother - when did he become his brother's father?
2. he is sending money to her brother - when did he become their father
3. he is taking money away from his family which can go to their own home and kids
4. once he marries her they become family and you should treat your family equally sometimes


i have a question though, poster does the wife work and contribute to the family income?
