I wonder why many nairaland atheists are addicted to christian trolls.

If it is to support an atheist/humanist/scientific thread, they will be lackadaisical but when it is a kingebukasblog thread, they will be charging like the energizer bunny.

A good example is this thread- a well known troll apologist asked atheist to prove that atheism is logical.....and the atheists here obliged. smh

Don't worry atheists tend to act that way. They think they superheroes for atheism.

Atheism is silliness in itself, as I will show:

Now, let's assume for a moment that the truth is that GOD does not exist, and that there is no ultimate reward for doing good or evil, and that I exist just by chance.

Why are you telling me the truth? Why should I know the truth? Of what use is the truth to me? If you say it will better my life: why should my life be bettered? This is the only life I get to live, and after it nothing else; and this one and only life which I have can be terminated right now by an unoffended murderer. And that's it. Why is there life at all? Why should I even desire to live? Of what use is it to be alive? Why should I be alive? You say I'm alive to help others: why should I help others? You say it will make me a good person: why should I be a good person? Who determines what is good and bad? What do I get for being good? You say I'm a bad person for expecting a reward to my good deeds: why should I not be a bad person? Is there any punishment for being bad?

Nice one Jack!

we should be picky on which threads are worth our attention from now on

I've observed some threads that's built on dishonest premise

first it was "Atheists prove there is no god"

then "Prove Atheism is logical" amongst other threads

such threads make no sense

I once sent messages to some of my fellow atheists months back telling them to ignore certain threads and concentrate on those that are worth it even if it means NO thread for days or weeks

CC Lennycool, Dalaman, Randomperson, AgentOfAllah, Liberadeus, Hahn, Jonbellion, frank317

let us attend to only threads that make sense

Ignore Christian threads ? You are obviously not smart to even think of that

You feed on our attention . Ignoring Christians or religious people will lead to your fizzling away . As atheists in Nigeria are an insignificant minority you need people like us to give you that attention you need .

Look at this fellow undecided

I'm not surprised you could have such utterly egregious thought

I agree with you. Their are som posts so illogically written or so built on false premises that to attempt to engage them would be a waste of time. The mindless back and forth that stretch on to 18 pages or more is not really worth it...

C'mon guys;
think of the data and electrons!!

Why do you find it amusing ?

I'm actually aghast at such abysmal reasoning .

I'm actually doing you the favour not the other way round

Ignoring any thread is to your detriment not to the Christians'

Well if that's the consensus . Then so be it . smiley

No one wants foolish ignorant comments made by an insignificant attention-seeking minority littering all over the place cool

I'm generally not in the habit of encouraging groupthink, which is why I refrain from prescribing who or what to comment on to other people, because however similar we may think, we all have different things that pique our interests after all. But in this specific case, I agree that a certain level of discrimination is required so as not to keep chasing stupid rabbits unleashed by idiots who care more about antagonising others than about the subjects being discussed.
It is to this end that I generally avoid Ebuka's threads and mentions. That guy is more interested in the star status his bombastic loquaciousness earns him with clueless admirers, than with having any sort of productive conversations about belief.
That said, I'm not going to advise anybody to ignore him, I leave it to each individual's discretion.

I've said, many times, that debating with dishonest apologists is largely a waste of time. I guess calling atheists 'silly' is more persuasive. undecided
