God really bless the O.P. I very much agree with you. Some people especially introverts as someone earlier sed use these words in order to leave open a possibility of intimacy. I feel like a coward using friendship to lure a woman to bed.

There's one thing Iv never been good at is converting friendship to intimacy/relationship with a girl.

If I don't toast you or try to hit on you the first two or three times we meet, it may never happen again. Cos once I see a girl as a friend, there's no room for such indirect romantic rapport or relationship.

The most risky/tempting one is chatting late at night with the opposite sex. Nights could be so cold and most girls sleep naked.
Due to their unclothedness and cold, these chats and calls could easily lead to fon sex and all that.
