Read between the lines:

The army may indeed have taken such steps but do nor wish for it to be in the public domain given that as they said, any premature and overt aggression towards the Gambia may endanger Nigerian citizens in the Gambia and aggravate president Jammeh ahead of the second round of peace talks due to hold today.
