The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a publication by Premium Times online news medium titled "EXCLUSIVE: Nigeria raises troops for Gambia, ready to remove Yahya Jammeh".
This is not true.

Consequently, Nigerian Army wishes to disassociate itself from such false information that exists only in the figment of the imagination of the medium. There was no time or place Nigerian Army disclosed such information to the medium. If there is any, we challenge them to name the officer or soldier that gave them such information and when.

For the avoidance of doubt, Nigerian Army is not planning to attack any country.

It should be noted that such reckless and unprofessional conduct is not expected of any reputable and responsible news medium as it is inimical to national security.

The publication apart from being false in its entirety, it is unethical and capable of endangering the lives of Nigerians in diaspora.

The medium is please requested to always clarify such matters affecting national security and diplomatic issues that may endanger the safety and security of Nigerians abroad to avoid such misleading and embarrassing publication.

As usual. Premium Times would make an allegation, army HQ would deny it, Premium Times would give evidence (usually a video) supporting their allegation, army HQ would send them a cease and desist letter threatening legal action and Premium Times would give them a straight middle fingered reply.

Premium Times have already made an allegation and army HQ have denied it. We are now waiting for the evidence.

Nigeria is the only country in the whole ECOWAS with excess time in its hands and too much military might it doesn't know what to do with. send the boys to Gambia, they are bored and need to be exercised. After all Boko Haram has been defeated!!! SMH!

This is the official report which should be taken with a pinch of salt, the unofficial report which is more credible remains: Nigeria troops will go to Gambia but through the back door. NA never expected the mission to leak so prematurely. Go boys and stretch your legs, make sure you don't shoot anybody, just stretch your legs, do some push ups and come back.
