My DD is due for her 6weeks immunization tomorrow. Do I give her pcm b4 we go to the hospital?

Also pls who knows anything about 'clogged ducts'?? Noticed my left br.east was painful and had a hard lump last night..tried to express but it wasn't flowing well. Pls wat do I do o....its still swollen n painful. We have been managing it but it really hurts.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my DS... I went to the immunization dept during our appointment today... The nurses there told me the scar usually appear within 6 MONTHS... If not, re-visit the hospital...

Official advice of most doctors and nurses is don't give pcm till baby is running temperature after the shot. If no temperature, no need for pcm.

Let your baby keep sucking cos the more she sucks the better for you and the duct will open soon before it leads to mastitis.
You should start nursing your baby on the breast that is blocked first so she can empty it well before getting full and not nurse for long again.

Use a hot or cold compress whichever one gives you the best relief to massage the affected part.

Take ibuprofen to ease the pain and fever should there be any.

Rest well, avoid stress and take plenty water.

If the Breast becomes red and hot please go see a doctor.


I prefer waiting till after the vaccine to administer pcm.

Please use a wet cold washcloth on the thigh where the Penta is given some babies get burn form the hotness of the medicine and please DO NOT MASSAGE.

Cuddle her and nurse well afterwards cos she may be very cranky.

For the breast try hot towel massage then pump.
I would have suggested cabbage but u still nid to breastfeed.
Then clean ur nipples very well with warm water,then with olive oil.
Kpele for the engorgement pains.

I need to know d immunizatn day dia so I can decide which one to use. I can get a card dia to see whats on dia schedule. just arrived back to Nigeria nd not sure which place t register yet. The health centre in my area had one today. Another wil be 2wks time-

You can give after immunization.
Sorry about the bwest,wat you need to do is clean the tip with olive oil and cotton wool,then massage with hot(not scalding hot oh,make best no burn)water,do it like twice. Take pcm you will feel better before you know it

Doctor prescribed Antibiotics + PCM + white Vitamins C and less than 48hrs, there was drastic relief n reduction in d lumps.
Cause: excess milk in the bwest for more than 2days. I usually express @ work but during d Xmas hols I stopped coz I was wif DS saw no need to xpress hence d accumulated hind milk dt caused Mastitis
Solution: just like other mamas av said, let ur baby feed on d bwest n express out d hind milk for later feed. Express Wen LO can't empty d bwest n it still feels full

It may not be colic could even be hunger! Are you exclusively breast feeding ? Are you sure he's getting enough? He may also just be hot do you layer him excessively? Just express some milk into a bottle and be sure he's getting enough then we move on from thee.

You also avoid eating beans, dairy products bf m and overly spicy foods for now
