I treated the offer with lack of interest since I knew we would be posted to public schools where teachers gain free money without challenging themselves with great tasks to develop themselves for the future. If my NYSC were to be in a public school I wouldn't have gotten the experience I got. I needed another private school that would give me more exposures to build on what I had - especially in practicals, and systematic teaching pedagogy. I didn't go for the NPower verification/deployment. I dropped applications in various private schools and was called by one on December. The aptitude test questions were pure education questions: bothering on learning domains, classroom management, pscychology of secondary school tenagers, evaluation methods, ethics of teaching profession, lesson note and lesson plan etc. I performed excellently and was invited for interview/microteaching which I performed so well and now I have been given the offer. Your comment is harsh but all the same thank you for your input. On the "being poor aspect" it depends on what you call poverty. Which I doubt if your net worth can actually match mine - declare it let's see. On poor writing skills. If it is based on paragraphing of the write up I would say the small phone I use does not give me that freedom. But if it is on the technicality of professional english writing, i'm sorry i'm not a grammarian. But i'm show you've never written as much technical reports that can measure up with as much financial returns than what I do in my professional practice. On the final note. Do not be do quick to judge people. People's background differs. Some have comparatively comfortable background while others have to struggle before making it. Congrats OP. Where is the school located? Like I always tell people that the key to success is to seek specific knowledge and face a specific direction and follow it up. If you save up enough cash, consider doing a PGDE (international), get an IGCSE certification and probably an M.ED certificate and watch schools come for for you. The schol you are even has a mere proprietor (no pun intended). There are a lot of schools that are far better. There are teachers that get 100k,150k,200k,250k and even as high as 350k take home here in Lagos. So, work on those things I told you and see that your school as a starting point. Cheers!

am just like u. I read computer engineer bt i enjoyed tutoring my colleague back then in school and i found love in teaching. Hv bn posted to a school 4 npower prog while till working in a private sch. It all joy. Have bn paid #tongue out.The important thing is to put in ur best. Door will open.

FYI, some schools pay 100000, 150000, 280000, 350000 and highest i know is 650000/700000, though AIS/Hillcrest pay in dollars and i im not talking from hearsay....go check teaching staff of Grange, Atlantichall, Daywaterman, British International, James hope, Green Oak, Bridgehouse, AIS, to mention a few.....
Ask any banker friend that have access to their pay schedule.... you will run! I doubt you earn up to these guys

Not entry level package, the guy was in olashore before and his bargaining was good....he got his car loan in 6 months plus other benefits.....guy u can be in same class with one person and be earning more but u dont know.....my guy that earns 600 in jhc, another guy that had 12 yrs+ experience came after and was collecting 470, its about intelligence and inside info o....lol
