That's exactly what I meant... the whole tactic was to mark us closely and there was no room to do much. They actually covered more distance than us. I think I also heard at some point that they had 10km more than us... they made our wingers non-existent and put pressure on our full backs just so they are not able to attack... it was only second half that Valencia could really attack more. Our play, like I said before, has always relied on Ibra bringing the wingers into play and that worked excellently for us but unfortunately we had no chance to do much of that as well.

What am saying is that they played to their laid down plans yet we can't say same about our own players. The moment you allow Liverpool to run you over, there will be problems.

That's obvious, Carrick and Herrera can help cover those deficiencies but making quick simple pass is just foreign to him.

Pep has some good players in his attacks such as De Bruyne, Aguero and Silva but his central midfield and defence are shite! There's no way a team can manage with that. He needs to find a good replacement for Fernandinho as soon as possible and take Yaya far away from the midfield because he offers nothing when he's not scoring. If I were him, I would go back to the tactic and selection at the beginning (but with the exception of Stones), that is, a 3-man midfield of Fernandino, Silva and Debryune. However, the problem is Fernandinho is hardly available due to his hot temperament. I don't know why the young Aleix wasn't tried in the role, even Fernando would have done better than Zabelata in the midfield.

Pep could've made a better selection. He's just stupid and adamant. He keeps tinkering with his team and his experiments keep getting destroyed by the EPL.
