well, this should be pretty simple. Using windows 8.1 for example, navigate to the search pane and type " change account picture" . Click on the "change account picture" result . Click on browse in the next menu. this takes you to your pictures folder. click the picture you want and click " choose image" on bottom right corner of screen. You are done. You can try this method even if your windows is not 8.1

Hello Guys, So my laptop has been extremely slow and almost impossible to use of recent, i have restored it severally to factory settings, yet it still has the same problem.

I tried running a disk check, it gets to a certain point and just remains there, i actually left it for like 2 days, yet it didnt progress.

I suspect that the hard drive is bad, i just need confirmation from the gurus here.

It originally came with windows 7, i upgraded to 8, and 10 respectively over the years (Been using it since 2013). The problem started while i was on windows 10, although i have restored it back to windows 7, all in a bid to fix it.

next time you power it on, observe if the fan is rolling or not. Also feel the underneath of the laptop with your palm if it is abnormally hot.
Do all these before it goes off. Then lemme know your findings.

please i need a technical help on how to flash or remove a currupt bios on hp cq61. nw in a dead state , initially it power on display but ws unable to format nor use an external drive for disc format after notin works on hardware (mousepad,usb port etc). nw it unable to power frm d power switch buh indicating charging light wen connected to a power source.

First defragment your hard drive.
On a personal opinion, I advice you uninstall that avira you have on it. That antivirus is probably running tasks in the background when your PC is on.
