In 2010 when I wanted to acquire a land, getting to ikorodu is always an ordeal. The hold up dioesnot have part 2. I therefore got one on mowe ofada road. As it is now,however it is the opposite. The Lagos Ibadan expressway is always in the news for only one reason, hold up. Power is also terrible along the axis. With the level of development and the future prospects of ikorodu axis we hear everyday, would it be wise to sell off the land and get something in ikorodu (ikorodu is now also very expensive), is there any hope of things getting better along Lagos Ibadan expressway.....

Where in this country is completely safe? As for me, I work at Ikorodu so I spend most of my time there. Ikorodu is lovely, serene and peaceful. Lots of nice places to relax and chill. Good road networks. Streetlights. Security. I live around ketu ojota axis but I must tell u I can't hang out anywhere there. If u drink chilled beer you will know what I'm talking about. I already acquired a property in Ikorodu and I wouldn't mind getting more. As I'm typing this right now I'm even in a cool joint at Ikorodu. So Ikorodu rocks.

OP: if you can afford it, leave the mowe property and get one in ikorodu. Don't trust all you read online. I stayed more than 5 yrs in ikorodu. Any one who says contrary hasn't been to ikorodu in the pasy 2 yrs or so. The amount of infrastructure there right now is better than you can get on mowe axis for years to come. It's obvious ogun state government has no plans for move, ibafo axi which shows it would take awhile for meaningful development to reach the area. Take a drive around ikorodu and see the massive influx of people in there. The road network is much better. Ferry services are avialable. Like someone mentioned, there is crime everywhere in Lagos. Also, note crime in ikorodu is restricted to some particular zones. Avoid those zones if you can. Ikorodu is quite big. Some area are as good as lekki. Some aren't. I'd advice you take a Sunday morning drive when the roads are free. Go int through ebute and drive around. Ikorodu is a lovely place...

EBute,Oluodo,GRA , Ibeshe,are the posh areas(where you see houses comparable to the best in VI,ikoyi or lekki) of Ikorodu.

If you want to feel the posh areas ,just enter Ikorodu through Ogolonto/Wharf road,where you have Dangote Industry.


Relatively speaking,Ikorodu ranks among the top 2 areas in Lagos where electricity could be described as ''stable''.

That said, ikorodu is not more notorious than island guys. All depends on where you stay. Op I'd advise you relocate to ikorodu if you have the means, there are places that are as cool as cucumber here, cost of living is cheaper than other popular parts of lagos

There is a normal rule when it comes to dealing with traffic,u leave early to avoid rush because the crowd in ikorodu can be frightening

Una do well ..especially the Ikorodu landlords and those that have stayed for 2yrs , 5yrs and up to 20yrs
