Assuming I sell at 500 naira that will be 500,000 - 300,000 = 200,000.
Then again we've not considered NEPA Bill and cost of fuel and cost of fingerlings. Then, expenses due to unforseen circumstances.
Let's assume NEPA Bill and cost of fuel is 20,000 naira per month = 20,000 × 3 = 60,000
Cost of fingerlings is 10 naira = 10 × 3000 = 30,000.
Let's assume unforseen expenses is 10,000.
Total cost asides from feeding = 100,000.
200,000 - 100,000 = 100,000 naira net profit. But one will still pay tax on this 100,000.
This means that for every 400,000 naira that one invests into melange production, one gets 100,000 naira as returns after three months.
The profit margin is fair.

Let me give you an illustration
Mr A has 2ponds of 12X8X4.
The rule says he can stock 600 fish each to maturity
He has 300,000 and 100,000 for feeding and purchase of fingeling
It takes 5months plus to attain average 1kg
Rather than play by the rule, he breaks the rule 1
He purchase 3500fingerling @ 10naira total 35,000
He breaks the second rule by putting all the fish in one pond
He sort after 2weeks into the other pond by the time the fish are already juvenile
Total mortality after 2weeks is 120
He break another rule by budgeting for 3000 fish instead of 3,380
He feed foreign feed of 150,000 and local feed of 150,000
At 2month 2 weeks he got average of 280grams.
He sold the big ones that are above 300grams @ 560 per kg and got 168,000
He ordered for juvenile instead of fingerling
He sold another 550kg after 2weeks and got 340,000
By this time his juvenile are already 2weeks in the first pond.
The cycle continue like that throughout the year
In eleven month he has completed 4 cycle and made average of 280,000 X 4 equal 1,120,000 as net profit
He spent less time, less space, less running cost, less feed and more profit than if he had played by the rule
This is just one of so many ways of to make profit

If you can lay your hands on FISHCURE you can get chloraphenical and tetracyclin.. depends on the size of your pond for admiistration.

Broiler starter contain about 20% crude protein and has fishmeal as one one of its protein source. There is alway need to increase protein content especially when preparing feed for catfish
Ingredients such as Soya, fishmill, GNC, binder, vitamins and lipid can be added

The explanation given by Ttalk on melange is very interesting,can the same model be adopted for raising melange in earthen pond.If not please explain how. I should go about it for earthen pond to make a good profit.

The model can be carried out in earthen pond provided there is means for continous sorting with less expenses. You can even get better result if you have nursery pond for sorting before introducing the sorted fish into growout pond.
However, you should not assume that natural water from the ground would suffice in high stock pond. You should always drain the polluted water at interval in order to ensure constant supply of fresh water most especially in this dry season. Also avoid using too large pond besause of the cost and for easy management
