that eco bank u go must be run by aliens(not saying you are wrong, just seems we have a different training for the staff/mgt over there). i dont go into eco bank and gtb for any reason whatsoever again. banks with name and not service.
the thing sef don tire me, almost all our banks are useless except for deposit and withdrawals, they can only have good CS relationship when they engage in financial advisory services to SMSE, as this will bring them closer to the people in terms of interpersonal relations, so far we are stocked with just the nonsense deposits and withdrawal only attitude of their, we cant experience what a good customer relationship is. At a point in time, there is no account I'm using that I've never made at least 2attempts in closing it as a result of stupid acts of theirs, that a case of mine even led to the sack of an operation manager whom later become the branch manager(no ask as i know, the current OM told me, had issues, so was priviledged to meet him in person, we talked about my experience in the past with them, and he said so i was the one? that the issue was one of the cases used for his assessment).
I dont even know if am making sense sef, e be like sey i dey reason like oyinbo wen i no sabi wer NIS office dey.

I have found that if you dress sharply and you are making a transaction of 6 figures, they will comport themselves.

The staff in the banks are Nigerians so I dont bother expecting much from them.

Don't blame those bank staff as they are deprived of so many benefits promised them over the years. Some are not happy at all. Some are 8 years on the same level without promotion. No promotion or salary increment.

If you are a graduate and aspiring to become a banker in those new generation banks I pity you. They make your life miserable and ensure you continue working as a contract staff for 4 years and more. Most banks don't care about their staff welfare. It is so annoying that after promising them good welfare package, they refuse to honour their pledge.

How will such staff be happy. Some are not happy at all and the industry is capitalist in nature with self centered mgt using their staff salary to increase the balance sheet.

If this continues, the service will worsen. You see banks declaring huge profits but it does not reach the middle and lower level staff. Even the branch mgt are not happy with the conditions of the lower staff. The loyalty is lost btw employees and employers.

while i sympathize with some of the CS personnel since I know first hand just how demanding it is. (my sister is one), cus fact remains some customers can be VERY VERY annoying.

However its a job they signed up to do, and try to do it diligently. it can be quite difficut to smile when stressed up, but they should try.

Sorry if this sounds sexist, but female CSRs are usually worse, from my experience.

They guy Diamond bank, garden avenue in Enugu - fortunately cant recall his name, he is simply superb. No matter the pressure, you'll see him smiling and ready to converse with clients.

Worse bank
Re: Customer Service: Best And Worst Bank Branches On The Island by pokipoki: 5:39pm On Jan 22, 2017
It is always better to put pictures so that your audience can make informed decisions on your conclusions. Who knows, you could be paid off by the "three best banks" you visited and this could just be a "PR" stunt thing.

It is also worthy to mention that bank branches , like any normal business operating in Nigeria have their own peculiar challanges which could have manifested when you visited the branch. So a bank branch having problems today does not necessary mean it has the worst customer service. A good example is network downtime. Banks subscribe to network providers and usually at their mercies. When network is down, there must be queues in the banking hall.

For you to make an informed conclusions, you need to do your investigation over a period of time to prove beyond reasonable doubt.

Come to UBA kafanchan, they seem to have the smallest branch in Naija, like fulani hut with stretch of queues circumventing the banking hall. They hardly care if u suffocate while on the queue and those depositing 1naira to 200k join a single line with only 2tellers/cashiers who looks like IDPs are those attending to customers.
I hate that bank/branch with venom!

You should try GTBank in Kubwa, Abuja branch. I guarantee you will close your account with them. Unfortunately for them there is a Fidelity Bank just next to them and I have since moved there. They have a very good customer service there. One GTB staff in Kubwa branch literally shouted custmers out of their branch once in my presence. God help us...

UBA which means Useless Bank of Africa. I detest this bank with passion, if you are not careful in this bank you may end up beating a staff there. If your account is been debited without payment via the ATM, you have to wait for almost a month before it will be reverse.

Re: Customer Service: Best And Worst Bank Branches On The Island by Sanchez01: 6:13pm On Jan 22, 2017
Well, this report is long overdue, in my opinion. I would have said this customer service personnel should be subjected to quarterly orientation, but then, it would not help all that much. Where I believe the problem is is the presence of crowd or otherwise in a bank.

For example, GTBank in Enugu, Rangers Avenue is so bad that I had to lash out at one after he left his seat for almost ten minutes, and when he returned, he simply pretended as if I never existed. I was bitter and mad that day, and although he apologized afterwards, it just wasn't enough. This is a bank with over 50 people at a particular time.

Stanbic, Stanbic is a bank I prefer to visit. While they don't control that level of crowd as the GTBank at Rangers Avenue, every customer counts at the Okpara Avenue branch. I could remember being attended to by this personnel. She was calm, extremely friendly and paid every detail to my plight. Long story short, I left the bank fulfilled and satisfied. Almost customer service personnel there know me as I seem to be the only one with issues in this world cheesy. All the same, the service is the same everything.

First Bank around New Haven is sheer horror and the customer service personnel are horrible. I closed my First Bank account because of a demeaning experience with one of them. I had thought of writing to report her but then, all she would get was a query and I just might end up having someone fired.

The differences I noticed with these banks, in my opinion, would be due to the number of people who visit them daily. These personnel might start the day smiling, nice and sweet, then get tired at the long run. They're humans too but then it would be better their BMs do a routine check every now and then, rather than sit down in their office, sipping coffees and teas while staring at the bank's CCTV monitor screen like they're watching the UEFA Champions League.

Lies and exaggeration.

This MIGHT have happened during the BVN registration era and we know how chaotic that period was in various banks not just GTB Ojodu.

It is not an everyday occurrence.

GTBANK and STANBIC IBTC are still my best banks.
They've empowered customers to run things.
I can't remember when last I entered a banking hall thanks to their 737, online banking and multiple alternative channels.

Those Complaining about banks are those who have refused to move with the times. Apart from cash deposits and withdrawals you can do virtually everything without visiting a branch.

.
The Stanbic IBTC branch at Igando is an exception. The ATM queue always extends from inside the bank premises to the shops and petrol station besides the bank. I drive past that place every day and the queues are atrocious.

I don't get why the op is complaining about long queues and slow service

If it was a case of unorganised queue then he has a point.....but the number of people on the queue is determined by the number of people in the bank at that particular time.

As for them being slow....it could be as a result of the complexity of the problem.

I have been in a banking hall where a lady in customer service had to attend to a customer for upwards of 15 mins. That day I commended her for her patience
