How? Ambode should be commended for appointing a non Yoruba as member. In fact he is supposed not to be praised self but encouraged to appoint more 'non indegenes' into economic development committee of a cosmopolitan state like Lagos.

We are happy when America and other developed countries appoint Nigerians into key positions but are averse to appointing the same Nigeriand from other states.

How do we move forward like this or you are joking?

Nigerians dey tire person

This is one of the reasons Lagos state continues to do well.

This is an economic management team that has members from other states of the federation- at least I know 2 of them so well- Ken Igbokwe, an Igbo man, was the very brilliant Country CEO of a foremost global firm called PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) until a few years ago; and Omobola Johnson PhD from Manchester Business School, from Ondo state, was the Minister of Communication (until 2015) under Jonathan. Some other members appear to be non-Lagosians too.

In 99.9% of states in Nigeria, non-indigenes can never be appointed as cleaners to members of such a committee, let alone get appointed as a member.

I live in Lagos, and I am not an indigene, but I admire this approach by Lagos State Goverment, which started right from Tinubu's tenure. For Lagos, it is all about competence; get people from any state, so far they can contribute!

Thumps up, Governor Ambode!

Pure nonsense!

Lagos state does not need Igbokwe! Igbo land need him desperately. That is where all his energy and ideas are needed so that development can spread to the East and around the federation.

An educated Hausa man would rather develop his state and people. Igbos should do the same!!!

You no go die well for that statement! Which part of Lagos is your papa from? Better head to your erosion land East of the Niger. And we prefer northerners anytime.

Oya come and take lagos na. you think lagos would ve been great if other states didn't invest their money in it?

Somehow, most Igbos by their behavior and chest-beatings on NL have brought out the non-omoluabi parts of most Yorubas on NL.

We Yorubas have never complained about a non-Yoruba appointee, it is the unschooled Igbos who would come to this platform and insult us by calling Lagos no man's land and claiming in future that the committee would have failed without a certain Igbokwe...we are tired of been constantly spit on by people who would not even give an Imo man job in Abia, but come to Lagos to claim Don. We are hospitable, not stupid.

See the spin I am talking about? Before long they will tell us non SW-indigenes are the ones that helped Tinubu, Fashola, and Ambode formulate policies that made Lagos what it is today. Yinmu. Asides from political appointments of little consequence abegi ko jo. Lagis under Tinubu, Fash and Ambode would still thrive without Igbokwe and fellows. More than enough Yoruba technocrats are available and have been doing it fir Lagos. #Fact[/quot

Brother (or sister); I did not spin anything. I am a Yoruba man like you, but the truth had to be written.

I admire Lagos State governments (from Tinubu's era) for deploying talents from all over Nigeria!

My entire professional career, spanning about 20 years, had been spent in Lagos, bro! I still work and live here (Lagos). So, I am NOT from the East as you ignorantly insinuated.

And by the way, I am proud to be a Nigerian (and not a tribal warlord); I do not get involved in the slimy, irritating, and despicable tribal, religious, and political war majority of small kids on NR engage in! My worldview about humans and humanity is far different...

Politicians knock off your heads against one another online and offline, but they share their loot together in spite of their different ethnic, religious, and political groups! Stop wasting your life fighting online for people who do not give a hoot about you! Take up your own destiny and get an assured future, bro. By the way, I am an ardent admirer of Tinubu's leadership qualities- he is far above majority of Nigerian politicians in mobilizing (and retaining) followership from cerebral people!

When your in England and you are totally qualified for a Job but you are denied because of your country of origin, how would you feel?

Tribalism and Religion has killed the growth of this beautiful nation.

What matters most isn't whether your igbo, Yoruba or hausa but the fact that his Nigerian and his ability to get the job done.

We keep on making this country harder for our children because of stupid actions.

The whites spend their lifetime building things that helps the world (Google Facebook etc) and average African man spends his lifetime being a fking tribalist and praying 247 expecting God to do everything for him without putting in good effort.

Another ignorant (and arrogant) commentator! Ken Igbokwe, who was appointed on that Committee was the brilliant former Country CEO/Managing Partner at a global firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)! He is not Igbokwe of Lagos APC!

Imagine how stupid you look, having insulted Ambode and 'Yoruba leaders' on a thing you know nothing (absolutely nothing) about!

So many ignorant, bigoted members on Nairaland! Even if you are an illiterate, couldn't you have asked your brother or cousin to check Google on your behalf to know who Jen Igbokwe is?

Too many lazy kids on NR. I pity this dodgy generation of lazy bones. They do not read; they do not seek knowledge; they are quick to insult! Na only music dem sabi! SMH!

I don't care! He is just another flat head! His energy, drive and ideas are needed in Igboland not here in Yoruba land. We have enough technocrats already and for your information my son work for PWC in London.

Guy, if truly you are an omo kaaro ojire then you need to quit deceiving yourself. Tinubu and Fashola appointed those igbos merely to give their people in the state a sense of belonging and demonstrate the uncommon Yoruba generous trait (and not coz there are no other qualified Yorubas to fill those positions), but unfortunately they have come to interprete such gesture as an entitlement and even go as far as trying to claim undue credit, like seriously? Their people hate Tinubu and Fashola (the initiators of this gesture) more than the devil himself. Abeg, are they the only non-Yorubas in Lagos?

How many Yorubas have your people appoint in the East, even as a clerk?.
You people's ideas are not needed, as you can see Lagos is already doing fine without your ideas.
In fact I'm strongly recommending that you people should take your ideas home, where it's highly needed.

a wise man once said "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity" The economic team appointment by Abia & Anambra State government has several Yorubas as well as other tribes in it.

To help you out with your ignorance, please answer this, how many Igbos are appointed in Ekiti, Ondo, Kwara, Sokoto, Yobe, Kastina, to name a few. The reason why you see an Igbo name in the list is that Lagos is a diversified state (before you go further on your ignorance, I never said the state don't belong to the Yorubas). The state was once the capital of Nigeria and is still the commercial capital of Nigeria (GDP $131 billion 2015), 7th largest economy in Africa. It is expected that people of different tribes and RACE will live in the city.

So that an Ibo man is an advisory committe should be seen as a good thing. I'm sure someone with your level of thinking will rather be happy to see an indian (a tribe we all know has a large community in Lagos, and runs most industries atm) in the committee than an Ibo.

We need to grow as a country collectively... Grow Up...

finally, Google is your friend....lol
