Guy go and read the account of those that survived the killings in Agatu and Godogodo. The Military would storm the communities, go on a house to house search, seizing ALL weapons and after they seize the weapons. They would remain in the community for about 48hrs giving those in the community a false sense of security, after that they would move out and abandon the community in the night and some hours later the herdsmen would attack. Its not like these communities can't defend themselves, its just that they can't fight the Herdsmen + The military. This is why back in 2011/2012 a certain village in Jos were very hostile to the Military, they said they didn't want any help from the military and that they could defend themselves.

Army base? What does that have to do with anything.

Back then in Jos, GOC sends his men from Rukuba barracks after the guys have killed as many Christians as possible. And the order was usually shoot at sight. Which usually meant Christians planning reprisal attacks, go into hiding.

Army base means shiits...they would even use it to commit more crimes in southern Kaduna.
