I totally understand you... What I meant was that I would be uploading data page of Canadian passport instead of PR card that Fusion uploaded.

I would also be adding utility bills and birth certificate.

Quick question tho... Linked in profile shows all past working experiences, but we claiming only one in eAPR cos of stress of getting reference letters tho all the info are in personal history... Could this pose a problem? @Fusion23... Did you claim experience from all the places you worked?

I only have two work experience I claimed points for , like when i was studying i did part time jobs ..i didnt add them to work experience or even work history..dats just my case thou..u cant study full time and work according to them

Regards.

All the way from Canada student visa thread, where I am an active member. I will like to know possibility of express entry while studying.

Profile: 4 years volunteer teacher experience, 1 year full time nysc experience that ended April 2015. Currently working as GA in a federal university for the past 5-6months.

Wondering if students visa documents like medical, police cert, etc are applicable to Express entry, as a way of reducing cost.

Is there anyone with profile similar to mine that had been successful in the express entry/fed skill race?

What's the house opinion on my profile, eligibility, etc?

Can I get concise intro into the whole process?

Are there things I need to know as I follow your conversations?

Thank you.

I am humble and loyal. Elders in the house, help me!

Bros you don reach here? Oya go answer my own questions wey I don ask for ur forum first.....lol grin

Anyways you are welcome here, i thought their is a usual trend for Canadian students. The pathway is somewhat like this, after masters, then a 3 years work permit program or so, then before that process is done you perform for PR under Canadian experience class.

Please am not very sure of exact mechanism but am sure that it's easier, faster ands smoother for Canadian students to get PR.

Check canada visa. Com forum to see those who have done similar pathway.

Must all my work experience be on LinkedIn? I didn't update any work info on my LinkedIn acct, will that count against me?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by boldinc(m): 1:21pm On Jan 31, 2017
You will need a better IELTS score for a much higher score. A masters' degree would help too.

Hello House,

I would like to thank @vcole @dupyshoo and other members that offered advice especially concerning my IELTS test i took on 29th October 2016. After EOR which took exactly 10 weeks, my scores increased by a band.

Former Scores: LRWS- 7.5,7.5,7.5,8
After EOR: LRWS- 8.5,7.5,7.5,8

Here's my issue, my name was not included among the convocation list, so i can't get my Masters certificate OFFICIALLY till next year January (so annoying angry cos i fulfilled all graduating conditions well before the list was drawn). They promised me a letter "in lieu of" which i don't think will suffice for ECA.

This sets my score at 426 (instead of 465) without the Masters (i'll be 31 years in 2 weeks, married with over 7 years experience). Should i go ahead with the ECA with my B.Eng. OR/AND try for a PNP?

Wifey's IELTS scores were lower, going to clock 30 in April, doesn't have a Masters degree/2 certificates either, so i guess she's not a better PA.

Thanks in anticipation everyone.

A statement of result will suffice for ECA if it is available , My certificate was also not processed, no thanks to an error from my postgraduate school, so i had to wait for the next convocation batch. In fact, i collected my postgraduate certificate last month. I hope to submit my ITA application today.

Wow!! good to hear that you got your score changed. Amazingly, your listening score was changed. As vcole said, naija branch of British Council needs to be audited as they tend to allocate random scores to people.

I think you might be able to use your statement of results, if it is available.

Actually, British Council alone does not mark and grade the IELTS tests. They do it in conjunction with IDP Education, Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment Centre. The tests are collected after completion and randomly distributed among the three bodies to mark for fairness and to enhance QA/QC. I know of persons who took the IELTS tests in Australia and the UK for immigration and still had to go for remark, it's not limited to British Council Nigeria smiley
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 5:09pm On Jan 31, 2017
Yes, people go for remark elsewhere but how come the marker made a mistake in multiple choice section. Was he/she sleeping while marking it? A whole band for that matter!! That corresponds to marking 3 -6 correct answers wrong!!! It is totally unacceptable!!
If it is writing or speaking, that can still be subjective but not multiple choice sections.

Good point, there is certainly room for improvement.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 5:23pm On Jan 31, 2017
@blackbuddy, yea I know they are distributed to the three bodies for remark. Also when it's marked the very first time, about two different examiners do so.
However, if you follow the British council Nigeria trend, you will see that they tend to score candidates low. Very low. It's beyond making an error. I always encourage people who know their onions to go for an EOR. It takes a long time and most people just don't wanna wait that long but it usually gets upgraded.

The reason why this came to my attention is because I had reason to write an academic ielts in 2014. When my results were released I got a 6.5 in writing and 7 in LRS. However when I went to collect my trf, my result was one of the ones randomly picked for Qa/qc. When it came back, my writing upgraded to 7.5 and S to a 9.0 LR to 8.5,8.5. How can a score move a band and in speaking two bands up

I've written two more ielts tests since then, general and academic. Both 9,8,8,8 and 8.5,8.5,8.5,7.5 respectively. So, I know my competency level is consistent as opposed to that 6.5 that would have been my fate in the first instance.

I strongly believe that it's a money making thing oh. Instead of waiting for a remark that should take 6 weeks but they'll now make it last like 10 weeks. Most candidates will just book and pay for another test seeing as dates usually get full on time.

Must everything in naija be different? Even IELTS seems to be doing wuru wuru smh! What happens if I request for a remark? Can I use the current score while waiting for the new one? Because, I actually wanted to use a stone to kill two birds. My grade is good for Australia PR but very poor for Canada. Share your thoughts pls. Thanks

Going by the trend just discussed, it wouldn't hurt to pause a bit and wait for a remark.

Your scores would be inaccessible during the period of EOR.

Lol... i remember all too well. Though i did not prepare adequately for the exams, but your confidence that my scores would be upgraded (without knowing me from ADAM) spurred me to ask for a remark @vcole. Hell if i regret not asking for an EOR for my wife too. I clearly believe that BC purposely limits some scores so people can resit the exams....68k shocked

kindly advice what to do as we are unable to get Indian police clearance for my husband who had his masters degree in India. Can this cause a problem or misrepresentation. Please if there's anybody that schooled in India and has now gotten a PR. Kindly tell us exactly what you Did.
Will be standing by for Solutions as we are gathering other documents.

You see? Everyone kept saying my Reading can't be upgraded. Reading and Listening are never upgraded! I was certain I did very well. Listening was 8

I ended up not asking for a remark. However, I did the French exam and got high marks.

I decided to make French my first language and English my 2nd. I can't be donating money to British Council for IELTS!

I know the Canadian experience route but something said I should find out more about EE and other means, that I may qualify for PR without having to wait for two or more years.

Hey guys, I have a question. So, a friend of mine is in the express entry pool and she will likely get ITA in the next draw...Now the issue is, she was denied UK visa (her agent used 'dagbo' documents) some years back. But since then, she has travelled to other European countries and even the USA.
I told her to declare the UK visa issue and just attach an LOE.. .but u know we Nigerians with our supposed 'smartness'...people are advising her otherwise. So I said I will ask the opinion of nairalanders and others that have faced this similar issue. So...advice anyone?

Not submitting the police clearance will not be a cause for misrepresentation as long as he declares his period of stay in India. However, it can lead to the application bring rejected because it could be termed an incomplete application.

Hubby too had the same issue, the India consulate in Lagos insisted they did not issue PCC to non Indians. However, he traveled to abuja and got it from there. Although the officers at the gate insisted they did not issue such, he tipped them and they allowed him in. The PCC wasn't issued the same day though.

If you still can't get it, you could try attaching a LOE about your efforts to get it, but you will need documented proofs.

All the best, hope this helps
