Social Media Marriage, How Advisable Is It? by Nobody: 9:29pm On Feb 02, 2017
Hello,
my cousin is married to a guy she met on facebook..its been a year now and ever since they got married, she's never been happy as a married woman.
Firstly, the guy doesn't even trust her,he asked her not to work so other guys won't toast her.
Okay, since she's not working,he doesn't give her money for her wellbeing except money for food.
Then, every little quarrel,he starts beating her up.
Another horrible thing is that the guy hardly touch her but wants her to get pregnant, as in how will that happen?
Am stuck in the middle of all these cos am staying with them at the moment and whenever stuffs like this happen,I just wonder whether there was love and understanding before they got married.
Or is it cos they met on social media?

Pls i need ur humble opinion cos this is really driving me crazy.
Thanks...

Maybe the circumstance he met her online was not too good that's y he has zero trust for her..a lot of others are happily married and they also met online too..that is courtship is seriously advised.

How does this in anyway equate to social media marriage?

OP, something must've happened!...prolly she's cheated or got caught by the guy at one point in time, or he's suspecting some mischevious moves, you never can tell...a guy can't just wake up one day and decides he doesn't wanna trust you anymore or he starts feeling insecured...something must've gone wrong somehow somewhere that's making him develop such towards her...however, I feel you can do your cousin a lot of postives by sitting her down and actually asking her what's gone wrong and at the point in time the guy started not to trust her again...

And I stated they met on FB or any other social media site has no reason whatsoever to why the man isnt treating the woman right.

Typical, all Nigerian husbands are saints and if they ever behave badly, we just have to blame the wife. She must have done something. But if tables are turned and the wife behaves badly, then no one says oh, you must have done something to her, maybe she caught you cheating bla bla bla. No, they still blame the woman no later where or whom the problem comes from.
