For the past two years research work from Covenant university as been receiving more citations than research work from OAU. OAU needs to increase spending on research. Covenant university may beat UI soon because they've been pumping a lot of cash into research and released tons of journals last year which may bring them into top 5 unis in Africa with subsequent rankings

Webometric is an academic ranking. It rates only research and not like Times Higher that rates research, international outlook, teaching and industry. UI is also no 1 in Times Higher Ed.

Huh! Nope that best describes 4icu not webometrics. Webometrics uses web indicators to determine the research values of every institution journal published in top publications across the globe. You don't suppose covenant university with about 3000 prospective student has more web visit than unilori with a 100k prospective students?

Uniben was 1st in 2004 when it recently went online even though by NUC standards, Uniben was no 5.
