DSS Arrests Tareri Avwomakpa Over Whatsapp Message Supporting Johnson Suleman by todayboy: 2:09am On Feb 04, 2017
Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested and arraigned a Warri-based legal practitioner and son of the South-South Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Mr. Tareri Avwomakpa, over his Whatsapp message allegedly calling for support for General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

Our correspondent gathered from reliable sources that Tareri, who was on Tuesday invited to the Delta State office of the Service in Asaba, the state capital, was however detained and later charged at a magistrate’s court. He was later granted bail by the court on Thursday.

Tareri was alleged to have posted a message on the social media platform, Whatsapp, where he called on Christians in the country to support and accompany Suleman to honour the invitation by DSS at its head office in Abuja.

The message he had sent to his contacts, which was obtained by our correspondent on Thursday, read, “URGENT!!! The DSS has invited Apostle Johnson Suleman to appear b/4 (sic) the Abuja office for interrogation by 10 am on Monday 30/1/17. Let every Christian come out in a procession to accompany Apostle Suleman to the DSS office. He spoke for us all.

“We stand against the shameful silence of Nigerian government over the killing of Christians in Nigeria; intimidation/harassment of the church with state security agencies and the Islamic agenda of this regime. United we stand & together we will win this battle. Christians awake!!!!! Pls forward this invitation to every contact and God will fight your battles in Jesus name.”

When contacted on Friday, Tareri confirmed his arrest and that he had been granted bail by a magistrate’s court after he was arraigned for attempting to incite the public against the Federal Government.

Point of correction, he has every right to call for the elimination of every threat in order to defend oneself! Your president and the sultan have always approved the killing of Biafrans so there's no need for anyone to add to it. Christians have tolerated long enough so no matter the intimidation, the message has been passed and we will run with it. If the government deliberately refuses to protect its citizens then what else is left if not self help?

What the DSS will realize in no time is that power is not in Arms but in the united stand of the oppressed.
The once divided church is being galvanized in unity by the apparent oppressive disposition of the state against Christians. When that unity finally reaches the bridge, there will be no turning back.

If this government is wise they would thread softly with sensitive issues such as this.

Ok, you are not smart enough to understand.

It's people like you that have edged this government on in all of its stupidity. Now things are coming to a head and you guys are hiding.

Let me just educate you a bit. As it stands now, Nigeria is on a precipice. We don't even know for certain where our President is or whether we still have one. And at the same time there is tremendous despair in the land borne out of hunger and economic hardship the country is facing. People are hungry and angry. The last thing you would want to add to that at a time like this is the sense that you are oppressing any specific group. Doing so is fuel for anarchy. Why you and the rest of the bigoted folks can't see this is just beyond my imagination.

Where is Tompolo today? He is somewhere enjoying himself. But for the stupid decision by Buhari to pursue an outlaw for corruption charges, Nigeria lost 3 trillion Naira. The Government stopped the case but lost the economy. People like you keep supporting stupidity and the whole country loses in the long run.

Let's get wiser. There is no need for Government bodies to stoke embers of disharmony at a time we are not sure whether we still have a president in a period we are experiencing the worse hunger and despair the country has known.

Just another way to get at the president because he's a Fulani. Hasn't been there problems with Fulani in all northern states for ages. Why is it only the Christians they'd want to eliminate, and why does it reach a crisis level in only dominated areas? Apostate Suleiman and Co. are only interested in instigating a religious crisis in the north. That all. Period.

I can't rationalise the intention of murderers so how on earth am I supposed to know why they want to keep decimating Christians? The important thing is that their devilish intentions have been correctly deciphered and so Christians must knock off that threat completely. They don't need to know why because there is no justification for wanting to destroy human lives!

So if there has been problems with fulanis for ages it should be accepted as the norm and allowed to continue? At least Suleiman was specific, he said to take out/defend themselves against all fulani threats around them. An awakening must start one day; the fact that Christians have been silent doesn't mean it must remain so.
If there is religious crises in the North, it is 100% the fault of wicked, dirty, islamic herdsmen that refuse to live in peace with others and not that of those that are determined to live n protect their lives, families n livelihoods.

You don't know anything about the Fulani neither does that bling bling arm-importing pastor. You've never liked the Fulani and Buhari right from the start. Let us check ourselves and see our true selves. If we do that, we'll see that there's no cause for any arguments.

But there is cause for the killings and destruction by fulani marauders? Indeed! Beyond mutually alien cultures, there's no reason to hate anyone unless I'm given cause to do so. Besides how much love do muslims have for Christians? You also need to be honest! They've displayed their bloodthirsty and unforgiving natures courtesy of the kaduna midget that informed the world of that on twitter.

Sorry, I'm not lookin to feed some bloodthirsty vampires with my blood or that of any Christian anywhere so we'd rather be paranoid and on our guard henceforth than continue to pretend to be at peace with demons who kill for sport!

What's not criminal in the message? Sometimes you've got to let some go for peace to reign, not because they're innocent. You can strike a deal like was done to Jammeh, and possibly GEJ to hibernate and enjoy their loot - at least peace is maintained.
