as simple as being told to kneel down is, it can either trample on ur ego or make u fail that course if u refuse to do it.

This is like dream to me.
Come to think of it, punishing an undergraduate that way is far above the powers of a lecturer, to be sincere.
The worst thing a lecturer can do is to victimize a student in his course and even that too can be challenged.
That is their area of strength and we know it in as much as they also know university students are men that can organize to mess them up physically.
So each exercise caution. Lecturers are respected as a result for the harm they can inflict on a student's grade and they in turn respect their students who in this case are full grown men that could organize more-than-meets-the-eye for them.
