The Father is to be blame. He killed his daughter. He's in charge of the dog. It's obvious the dogs are not well feed and am very sure the owner (landlord) do send enough money for their well being. The girl's father starves the Dogs and maybe use the money for personal use. Dogs doesn't attack familiar face except they are hungry.

I'm so pained by this ugly incident. The earlier people understand that dogs are ANIMALS, the better. I rest my case

No.2 is wrong.

Feeding raw meat is not what makes a dog wild. A dog becomes wild due to irresponsible owners who lock them up all day, don't feed them and never socialized them. Pls, google up to see that raw meat is highly safe for dogs and never make them wild. If not, then they wont simply just bit the poor girl, they will eat her alive.

-The owner of the dogs is based in the UK.
-The father of the child was responsible for the feeding of the dogs
-According to the article the father of the kid (Wasiu) went to purchase the dog feed around 11pm before the incident occurred
-The dog must have been left out of its cage by the dad and dogs usually attack people they are not used to. The Kid was probably outside looking for the dad. or how do u expect a dog to go into someone's home and drag out their kid? can the dogs open people's door and attack.

I blame the father of that girl. He is as stupid and dumb as idiot. Feeding the dog is more important than his 5yrs old girl,according to the story, the owner of the dog is not even in Nigeria and it is the victim father that is taking care of the dog. I know people like you are barbarians. But for your benefit I will explain this slowly again. The dogs weren't at fault, the breeder was the senseless one who packed and malnourished 15dogs together only for them to be driven mad by hunger. With proper care of the dogs and proper parental supervision this wouldn't have happened.

For your research raw meat has no psychological effect on dogs.

This is why the should pass dog grazing bill so that we will have a grazing reserve for dogs

Five-year-old Aliyah Masaku, who was attacked by three dogs in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, has died.

Aliyah died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, on Wednesday after she was transferred from the Ikorodu General Hospital, where she was first admitted.

PUNCH Metro had reported that Aliyah was sleeping at their house on Alhaji Abdul Hakeem Bin Sulaimon Avenue, off Ewuren Road, Ikorodu, when an Alsatian dog broke loose.

The dog, Rover, was one of 15 other dogs owned by the landlord who is based in London, United Kingdom. It reportedly dragged Aliyah to the back of the house where two other Alsatian dogs joined it in attacking her.

They inflicted multiple injuries on her body in an attack residents said lasted for about two hours.

The father, Wasiu, who was responsible for the care of the dogs, had reportedly gone to buy the dogs’ feed when the incident happened on Monday.

Around 11pm of that day, some residents reportedly invaded the house and killed Rover.

Aliyah was taken to the Ikorodu General Hospital.

The father told our correspondent around 4pm on Wednesday that his daughter had a minor surgery at the hospital, before she was transferred to LASUTH.

He said, “This afternoon, the doctors said her condition had worsened and she was not breathing normally again. They said they would need to take her to the Intensive Care Unit where I would spend about N500,000 per day. They have not been asking for money from me, except for the drugs. Please help me ask Nigerians for support.”

Around 6pm, Wasiu informed PUNCH Metro that Aliyah had been pronounced dead and broke down in tears.

He lamented that his life would never be the same again.

The Director of the Office of Public Defender, Mrs. Olubukola Salami, expressed sadness at the news, adding that measures were being taken to forestall a recurrence in the state.

Salami said the agency was making an arrangement to remove the 15 dogs in the house where the incident happened.

“This is very sad. The girl sustained too many injuries. She was a victim of negligence and greed. We will be going to the house to remove the dogs on Friday,” she added.

RIP ALIYAH

Some of the unusual breeds are not man's companion at all, this is not the first time a dangerous dog has eaten a child. BTW I think thier should be measures to check mate the activities of this cross breeds. How can we call the offspring of a dog crossed by a lion a puppy

Believe me this is highly pathetic,but the dogs are animals whose behaviour is a reflection of how they are brought up through training etc.
There can never be bad dog except a bad trainer, if the owner or trainer skip the rules dogs are meant to behave in their normal wild form based on instincts.Its unfortunate the poor child is dead and the dog is put down.The 100% blame goes to the dog keeper who does not understand or forgot the basic rules of keeping dogs.
