Yes, it's sad.

More people these days are hungry for ANY type of "news". So they jump at anything.

The general attitude seems to be "I saw it online so it must be true"

I've even seen some "viral" WhatsApp posts that begin with "I've not verified this..." then he goes on to share the libel and ends by asking us to "please share"

Yeah, it IS sad.
