I loved GEJ and some of his economic initiatives. But I have the following against him:

a) Fuel price increase
b) wanton corruption under his watch.
c) The pipeline contracts to ex-militants

He failed badly in these three areas and Reuben Abati should know this by now.

In the defence of his paymaster. Agricultural sector became vibrant yet when present government ban the importation of rice the price went up sporadically. It is a know fact that the worse government ever in the history of our present democratic experience was the immediate past administration. The only credit GEJ have is that he conceded defeat after 2015 elections which I see as his only option at the time.

FEELING POLITICAL!
Now we know that the United States spent $596bn on defence in 2015. A very big amount. But the bigness of that amount becomes appreciated only when compared to the next big spender; China, which spent $215bn in the same year. Russia with all the noise only spent $66bn - coming fourth after Saudi Arabia with $87bn. United Kingdom (ever so stingy) spent a relative paltry sum of $56bn with the almighty Germany further down the line at $39bn.

You're the government of yourself. So, be wise n faithful to yourself

Don't be a pessimist, try to see the positive side of things. Even if you intend to build a thing for yourself and be your own government, you can't do that in an atmosphere of doom where all is negative. What Abati is saying is that Jonathan government wasn't all gloom, it has its positives. The problem with Buhari is that he is a cynist and a pessimist. Instead of focusing on those positives, he choose to keep echoing the negatives and push Nigeria in the path of doom. People need to be given hope and hope is in looking in the positives and believing things will get better. Anything outside this leads to pain, misery and death - a fatal hopelessness.
